WHAT A NIGHT!

There's a reputation for teams at The Fisherman - Stevenage that the final positions are rarely consistent from month to month, and that was proven at our October SpeedQuizzing night again!

Usually calling themselves Pray For The Battery due to having to plug their tablet in during every break, last night they decided to make a reference to our failed September quiz and called themselves Pray For The Laptop! 🤣 Luckily for them, my new laptop ran flawlessly and they won the quiz!

In second was a team that has been at the top and bottom of the scoreboard on previous occasions, but this time Mr Pumpkin Head finished in a healthy second place.

Points vouchers were given to our third, middle and last place teams, some of whom were playing for the first time - welcome, newbies!

Our November quiz will be on Thursday 5th, and with five Mondays next month there will also be our music quiz on Monday 30th.

Thanks for playing!

The greatest minds in Hoddesdon were out to play last night! There were plenty of ups and downs in our final round, but this week's SpeedQuizzing champions at The Sun are They Quizzed The Second Tower!

Congrats go to Clueless who came second again - a win for you next week, maybe?

We also welcomed three new teams:
- 3rd: Quiz Inside Me
- 4th: Yowserish
- 8th (but they quit early): The Gang

See you again next Wednesday!

Tonight I'm at The Sun - Hoddesdon for some midweek SpeedQuizzing! These were last week's prize and points winners - who's determined to beat them this week?

Don't forget the face swap in your private FB group SpeedQuizzing at The Sun!

Maths Debaters are not only smart, but also honest - they reminded me that due to their 'elite' status from multiple wins, I should have taken off 25 points at the end. So that dropped them from second to third, making El Cid our runners up!

This week's SpeedQuizzing champions at Jolly Postie - Royston are Norfolk N Chance. The scores overall were very close!

Drop The Mike finished last again, but Roger and Simon are now in possession of a collection of 140 points worth of vouchers! Could we see a win from them soon?

See you next week!

Well, that was the finish that no one expected or thought we would ever see! Of our seven teams at The Lord Kitchener - New Barnet, the solo player who usually wins finished in last place, and the team usually at the bottom won!

Congratulations to Trevor and Rob on their first win as Old Gits Rule, and commiserations to Matt on finishing in last place - but with only 90 points separating all seven teams, it was very close!

We welcomed Irregulars, a brand new team, who won the bingo for a couple of Golden Tickets to redeem next time.

See you for the next SpeedQuizzing night in two weeks, on Monday 12th October!

23/09/26 - THE SUN - THE RESULTS!

Eight teams joined us to play at The Sun - Hoddesdon this week, but the return of Not One Man Down threw a spanner in the works and they won again! They'll be back to defend their title (and to spend their voucher) in two weeks, and will have to overcome a points handicap at the end!

The bottle of w**e went to Still Very Clueless for the second week running, and three other teams won SpeedQuizzing points vouchers to use next time.

See you again next week!

22/09/26 - THE JOLLY POSTIE - THE RESULTS - THE MAYHEM!

Another brilliant night of SpeedQuizzing at Jolly Postie - Royston. Only our second Tuesday back after the big refurb, and it's like we never went away! Over 40 of you took part across 13 teams, and after a pretty disastrous first night back for Maths Debaters last week, they've got their groove back! They were fasttracked over a few times, but managed to claw their way back to the top.

I was handed 120 points of vouchers by one team in the hope that it might boost their score enough to win, but it...well...didn't. Drop The Mike got all those points plus 20 more for next time! Maybe Roger and Simon will get their first ever win?

We welcomed some new players too, and look forward to seeing you again and having you as regulars in our weekly quiz community.

See you all next week!

What a cracking party that turned out to be! Our 7th anniversary of Quizmaster Shaun starting SpeedQuizzing at The Chieftain - Welwyn Garden City brought him 17 teams, and to celebrate the occasion he had extra prizes to give away - so there are more winners' pictures here than usual!

Thanks for turning out to celebrate. Shaun will be back for the next one in two weeks, on Tuesday 6th October!
