Nice and lively at The Grafton with Kentish Town's finest brains out for SpeedQuizzing!

Sobbink played for the first time last week and finished last, but this week they managed in 4th out of 13 teams. I have high hopes for a win from them soon!

Tate Mark Rae pulled off a win by just 30 points over No ID No Entry, and Gluesniffers were sixth for the sweets. As our bottom team left us a few questions before the end, I gave a 20 point voucher to our bar team The Grafters, and one to Wenches!

The rollover prize rolls over, so it's £40 next Sunday.

News has reached me that we are FULLY BOOKED for tonight's first music quiz at The Fisherman - Stevenage! Having said that, we were fully booked for our last general knowledge quiz, and they still managed to squeeze extra tables in for additional teams, so how full is full?

It's on TOMORROW! Our first ever entirely music based SpeedQuizzing night at The Fisherman - Stevenage will be taking place every time there's a fifth Monday in the month. Have you booked your table yet?

And then I'm back there on Thursday for our regular monthly quiz!

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone who thinks they could be the Popmaster of Stevenage tomorrow night, we start at 8!

Yesterday was the last Thursday of the month, so I was back at The Jolly Farmers - Enfield for their monthly SpeedQuizzing night. What a night it was! 30 players across eight teams, including regulars and newbies.

I met Katie and Andrew for the first time last Thursday at The Red Lion - Hatfield's monthly quiz, where they finished second. Having followed me to Enfield this week they were unbeatable, beating Mini Sheep by 176 points!

Sarah, Mark and new player Jim won the spot prize for fifth place as Fastest Finger First, with new players Kim and Roshi in last place, winning two 20 point vouchers.

Our Wednesday SpeedQuizzing events at The Cellar Bar Bedford are getting busier! We crammed 10 teams in this week, and following their win last time Quiz Everywhere Son's Crying have now won twice in a row! So next time they suffer the soul crushing indignity of a -25 handicap, taken off their final score. They could still win though, as long as they're 26 points or more in the lead!

Kevin Has Clap finished in second and won a round of shots, and the spot prize went to Double Trouble for their impressive fifth place! (The ladies decided to showcase their prize rather than themselves though).

No pic of our last place team as they legged it as soon as we were done. The rollover jackpot is still waiting to be won, while the following one is already racking up the £££!

Busy at Jolly Postie - Royston this week with 14 teams battling to become SpeedQuizzing royalty!

Maths Debaters led the night until dropping to second in the final round, with Only Fools No Horses leaping into first place and staying until the end.

The spot prize for 7th went to Not One Man Down, and in last was a smaller than usual Otrivia Newton John.

This week the new rollover wasn't won, so it goes up to £40 next week.

It was a proper lively night, and I can't wait to see you all again next Tuesday!

TWO FOR TUESDAY!

In one of the smallest pubs on my SpeedQuizzing circuit, we were packed again last night at The Lord Kitchener - New Barnet with nine teams. Green Hedgehogs won for the second time in a row, earning Matt and Jacob a 25 point deduction off their final score to contend with next time!

We had a tie for second place which we broke with an extra Nearest Wins question for a single point, and that put The Circus Is Coming To Town (a reference to Take That's upcoming new tour) in the runners-up slot.

Our bar team and guests, with Hugo at the helm while manager Jamie is away, took the spot prize for their middle placed finish, and Old Gits Rule are either wishing us peace or throwing gang signs (I don't know which one scares me more!) for last place.

Next Monday, if you're up for a road trip, I'm at The Fisherman - Stevenage with a music quiz! And I'll see you back at The Kitch on Monday 13th October.

This week's SpeedQuizzing winners at The Grafton: TEiAM retook the lead after briefly being knocked off, but not by fastttracks - instead it was other players' right answers and a couple of his wrong ones! None of it mattered though, as he climbed back up and won.

Senorita Stonks finished in second, and You Are My Sunshine took the spot prize for fifth. And on our fourth Sunday here, I finally managed to give away the £80 rollover jackpot!

New team Sobbink played a great game, but lost too many points in the final round so finished just above our bar team, earning them 40 points head start next time.

As you can see from the pictures, the majority of our nine "teams" were solo players! It was an exceptionally quiet night, but let's hope the turnout improves next week.
