Last night I hosted SpeedQuizzing for Eversley & California Football Club in Wokingham for six teams, who all showed off their knowledge magnificently! Congratulations to our winners Young Ones. I'm already looking forward to your next quiz!

So the annual York SpeedQuizzing hosts meet up ended with me, playing solo, finishing 18th out of 38 teams. You lot are still better than me! 🤣

Despite hosting SpeedQuizzing nights up to five times a week, what happened last night at The Old Swan Bletchley was definitely a rarity: we had a tie at the top! One extra Nearest Wins question for a single point broke the deadlock, with Drink While You Think emerging as champions, and When I See The Robber having to settle for second place for the second week in a row.

The jackpot wasn't won, so that rolls over to next week with a prize of £50 in the pot, and Let's Get Quizzy took the spot prize for fourth place. 20 points head start for next time went to our bar team, Tab and Ellie.

Shaun took care of last night's fortnightly SpeedQuizzing at The Chieftain - Welwyn Garden City, and despite their team name getting more bizarre at every quiz we had the same champions as last time! So they can look forward to overcoming a points handicap at the next one on Feb 11th.

Another full house at Jolly Postie - Royston this week! Even though we didn't quite start at the new earlier time of 7.30 as some players weren't aware of the change, hopefully everyone knows now!

Norfolk N Chance spent the entire quiz in the lead until a few fasttracks pushed them down to fifth place, but they clawed their way back to the top to win on an astonishing 818 points!

Our entire Top 5 SpeedQuizzing teams finished on more points than the winning team would usually end on, so that proves you were really on the ball!

I gave the last place voucher to It Takes Two as the actual bottom two teams left too quickly, so they missed out on a head start next time!

3 Men In A Pub won our spot prize at The Lord Kitchener - New Barnet this week before surging ahead in the final round to win the quiz! With only a handful of points separating them, Simple Minds came second, and Stormy Night In Barnet took the voucher for last place.

Some smaller teams, but every table was taken up by SpeedQuizzing players at The Gipsy Queen this week!

Sam & Joe took the win, beating Ollie by just 20 points. Los Banditos finished 7th for the spot prize, and with our off-duty bar staff having left early, the 20 point voucher for last place was awarded to Yay Gay.

The rollover jackpot didn't get won though, so that £40 becomes £60 next week!

**NEW VENUE CONFIRMED!**

Yet another McMullen's pub is added to the A1 roster, as I'll be hosting SpeedQuizzing at The Nag's Head - Bishops Stortford on Thursday 13th February, then on the second Thursday every month from 10th April. This large, 1930s style art deco pub/restaurant will be one of our largest venues and our quiz night is destined to be a great success!

I helped out fellow host Kurtis while he's away by hosting a corporate event last night at Hilton Hotels & Resorts in Watford. 40 staff from Saniflo took part across 10 teams, and while they might make parts for toilets they were anything but bog standard!

After a hard-fought four rounds, our eventual winners were Fl**ge!

Decent turnout at The Old Swan Bletchley this week! Nine teams battled it out, and our newest SpeedQuizzing champions are Caitlin's Bi***es!

Having spun the dreaded black bar on the jackpot wheel, our bar team of Ellie and Tab took their second spin and won £50 of the £60 jackpot! There'll be £30 up for grabs next Wednesday.

Great to see so many of you at Jolly Postie - Royston last night, and we have new winners! Otrivia Newton John have played many times and finished everywhere between bottom and close to the top, but this week was their first win! A fasttrack took them into the lead, but they managed to hold onto it right to the end, thanks to some questions that turned out to be right up their street.

The Dislecticks finished second (I don't think that bottle of wine will go far between seven of them!), and £50 of the rollover jackpot was won by Red Hot Quizzy Peppers who finished in third place.

We had new players who went by the name of Ryanmeg who finished seventh for the tub of Celebrations, but asked me not to post their faces! That's the first time I've ever been asked that in over ten years, but happy to oblige.

Si Gone were definitely aiming for last place as they always do, but they succeeded this week!

Another great Sunday at The Gipsy Queen with many regulars and new players! Our latest SpeedQuizzing champs are Unmerited Hubrii, followed by Antwerps who won a Jagerbomb each, but Alex donated his to Slots Army who finished in a respectable third place.

Our mid-place team were new players, Delayed Escalator Works At Kentish Town (not that they were delayed as they played from the start!), who won a tub of Celebrations.

Old Boy Bookie got to play for the new jackpot having won the bingo, but only managed to win 20 points so the jackpot rolls over and becomes £40 next Sunday.

Brilliant night to wrap up the week! It was our first monthly SpeedQuizzing event of 2025 at The Red Lion - Hatfield last night, and your champions are:
