After a three year full time Professional Chef’s Course at Westminster College, Sarah worked in several top London hotels including the Connaught Hotel in Mayfair. After spending time working in Asia, she worked for Prue Leith, specialising in patisserie and going on to become Head of the Pastry Department. Clients included the Orient Express and Government Hospitality. After nine years at Leith’s

, she set up her own outside catering company. She completed a Business Studies course and then moved, along with 51 staff, to premises in Fulham. After five successful years, Sarah sold the company and has been running a busy catering and events company based in Hertford since 2002.

Yes it's late...having an hour quiet time by myself...this week's been pretty tough but after a day at Walton-on-the-Naze at a very close friend's Beach Hut it been good therapy....

Wow what a super busy summer its been so far....totally bonkers!!! But I have loved every minute of it even though its been totally exhausting.
I will be posting some of the weddings/events we have done so far very soon.
Tonight I just wanted to share a wedding last Saturday that I attended, the most amazing castle in Cheshire my eldests sons closest childhood friend, he was one of the gorgeous groomsman, and the grooms mum is one of my closest friends. So it was very special.
It was just so lovely to sit back and enjoy on the other side for a change 🥰

After just finishing a desk day, tweaking and finalising June's weddings I had a flashback to one of last years weddings that we never posted...it was the first weekend that weddings were allowed after lockdown with unlimited numbers.
The lovely couple had, had a venue booked for 18 months and were let down 3 months before their wedding!!...what a terrible emotional journey they were sent on!.We were recommended to them by a client, I arranged an instant meeting, said I could arrange and help with organising their wedding at the brides amazing parents, house in a marquee.
They had a fantastic day and were super happy with everything. It was such a pleasure to work with them and be part of their brilliant day 💞

We are so fortunate to have so many events but not enough time to post all of them which is a shame as they are all so special.....todays joint 40th Birthday Celebrations...Grazing Table done...I am sure this lovely couple will have a great evening celebrating their special birthdays..found us through social media..thank you for all the recommendations 😍

Yet another super busy week.
The weather yesterday turned out to be perfect for 80 guests celebrating a lovely ladies 70th birthday, in her amazing garden. We served drinks and canapes followed by afternoon tea, more drinks and then onto cocktails 😀

Great venue on Friday night. A 60th Birthday party. 100 guests enjoyed 3 different currys, drinks and dancing to an amazing Jazz band......
I had a slight problem with a duck getting in the kitchen, that's a story for another day!!!😁

Just thinking about last Fridays engagement dinner.
The room, table and setting was beautiful....canapes and champagne on the terrace followed by a 3 course hot sit down meal for 24. So happy for this gorgeous couple and the most lovely family, everyone had a fantastic evening. How lucky we are to have such amazing clients 🥰

Yesterday we did our first wedding of the year.
Guests arrived back for champagne and canapes forward by a buffet, cocktails, dancing and cheese.

A rare Saturday night not on an event and at home 😊
But just had a flash back to 2 weeks ago!!
We were asked to caterer for a surprise 60th....not the normal request a bit more of a challenge, every detail was covered and the clients were super happy 🙌
Venue Wales 4.5 hr drive in one hit...
Guests 28....Friday-Monday...
Dinner, Breakfast, Lunch, Freshly Baked Cakes for an Afternoon Treat, Saturday Night Birthday Meal Canapes and 4 Courses, Full Cooked Brunch with Eggs to Order, more Cakes! and an early evening Fabulous Roast Beef Dinner with Apple and Raspbery Crumble for dessert....Breakfast the next day and then back on the road at 11am......we decorated the most amazing venue with flowers, candles and balloons...between prepping and cooking I managed to get a beach walk in with the guests, chill in one of the hot tubs and go for a swim 🙂

After the success and feedback from our Christmas packages last year we are pleased to announce that we are providing our service again this year!

Less the stress, no queuing, shopping or hours spent in the kitchen preparing food!

With different packages and a selection of additional dishes you can create your own bespoke Christmas meal for Christmas Eve, Christmas day, Boxing Day or any time over the festive period.

As always, we will be using high end produce from our local suppliers.

Simple cooking instructions will with all food ready for the oven or a serving dish!

With the amount of preparation and cooking, we have a limited number of slots so book early to avoid missing out!

Another week another site visit....
Today we had the pleasure of visiting this truely beautiful 15th century barn (and was introduced to Hercules! 😁) where we are doing a wedding next year. Once its dressed it's going to look absolutely stunning 🥰

The Purple Raspberry team wants to say a big thank you to everyone who has ordered from our special packages, takeaway menu’s, and bespoke requests. We are extremely grateful for your support and overjoyed with some of the feedback we have received (see picture).
We can't wait to get back to providing our full catering and event services when we're allowed to!
However, in the meantime we are continuing with delivering great food to you, with the next one being our Mothers Day afternoon tea packages!

Mother’s Day 14th March 💐

Why not surprise your mother with a gorgeous Afternoon Tea. 🌺🫖

We make everything from scratch and use mostly small local suppliers for our ingredients.
Everything is freshly made, and the scones will be coming out the oven, just before delivery.

The Afternoon Tea will be boxed/packaged beautifully. ✨

Deliveries to Hertford, Ware, Hoddesdon, Broxbourne, Buntingford and anywhere in between!
We can deliver further afield but we will have to add a small charge. 🚗

Packages are to be consumed on the day of delivery.
Please let us know of any dietary requirements, a vegetarian option is also available.

This has inspired us to recreate their iconic Indian street food and deliver it to your door.
