⚠️ A number of road closures and safety measures are currently being put in place in Carlisle in response to the high winds.

These include closures in and around Hardwicke Circus due to concerns over works underway at the Sands Centre.
The car park has been cleared – but road closures may be put in place. Pedestrians and dog walkers are asked to stay away from this area, including on the riverside and park walks nearby.
Shaddongate is being closed from Dixons chimney to Castle Way due to dangers in this area.

Problems with the roads in Cumberland can be reported to Cumberland Council via the council's website https://orlo.uk/6p8Ha or, in an emergency, on the Highways Hotline on 0300 373 3736.

For Westmorland and Furness, report highways emergencies that require immediate attention such as a fallen tree to the authority’s Highways Hotline on 0300 373 3306. For less serious issues, complete the highways online reporting form found at https://orlo.uk/wahMh
