SC4M Newsletter

We've reached the end of our season. Every show was a stormer and virtually every one was a sell-out. That's why being on the Sc4M mailing list is an advantage because it lets you know about new shows before anyone else. This is important because so many shows now sell out well in advance. Simply send me your email address and I will add you to the list.

I can't resist a brief recap. I'm not picking any favourites because every single artist (and all the supports) came up with storming shows, but we do have some outstanding memories:
- This Is The Kit Kate Stables' dad Andy putting on such a beautifully moving performance opening for her at the church
- Small town Jones checking out the Disco Fluff at Steamtown
- Woody Taylor and Patrick Duff bringing so many effects pedals to the Swiss Cottage that there was hardly any room for an audience (but creating incredible sounds)
- Ryan Boldt The Deep Dark Woods almost turning cartwheels of joy when witnessing the Morris Dancers at Whitchurch Folk Festival
- Caitlin Rose being somewhat flummoxed by the Real Ale at the Railway and opting for Guinness instead
- Jerry Leger and band being entranced by Hampshire's trout streams

One thing that is worth remembering is what to do if you have booked a ticket for a show but unexpectedly can't come. Often there is a waiting list with people keen to come to the show but unable to get a ticket. If you contact Wegottickets (sup....com), they are tremendously helpful and will reallocate your tickets if there are people waiting. We're currently experiencing around 10 percent "no-shows", which is frustrating for people on lengthy waiting lists such as our recent Kate Stables and Caitlin Rose shows.

A big public thank you to my friends Phil Campbell and Martin Gough who have contributed a PA to the Swiss Cottage to add a little more definition to the sound.

New bookings are coming in but I can't announce them yet. Always keep an eye on www.sc4m.co.uk for info.

The biggest thanks got as ever to the brilliant Birgit Gray for making everything run smoothly.

The Swiss Cottage has "gone dark" with no further bookings for a while, but we've just had a run of cracking sold-out shows, all very different but all superb. Many thanks to Small town Jones , Patrick Duff , The Deep Dark Woods , also our good friends Martin Gough and Phil Campbell (for installing the new PA) and above all the queen of the ping pong table, Birgit Gray .
