The wonderful Agora hotel - where this magnificent shoot takes place - has recently been featured in ! And no surprise, really. It is the definition of a hidden gem in the middle of Cyprus, tucked away in the village of Lefkara - the home of traditional lace making on the island. The owners, Emilie and Aleks, have worked tirelessly to nail the decor with a soft, luxurious, old-time-glamour vibe. But they’ve also brought the hotel directly into the hearts of the local community, as well as creating a must-stay space for tourists. Seriously, you don’t want to miss it. Fave spot: lying on the striped pool beds, under a pink fringed umbrella in the atrium. With an Aperol Spritz, I think. Yes please.

My approach is first and foremost about getting to know you. I get to know things like how you met, who your favourite style icons are, your feelings on karaoke and what used to get you into trouble as a kid. Teasing out what makes you you, and why you work so well together, forms the basis for creating the perfect wedding day atmosphere for you and your guests. It influences the overall design, littering the day with meaning and allowing your generous nature to shine.

Weddings are multi generational affairs, and so our shoot had to follow suit. How lucky were we to have the most glamorous couple willing to jump in front of the camera with us? They had style and flair, and looked so good on the dance floor! They are the perfect reminder that while time doesn’t stop for anyone, love only gets better with age. Christmas beckons, but there’s so much excitement to share! My first European styled shoot is on the brink of publication, and I absolutely cannot WAIT to show you. Plus! I have the rare opportunity of meeting clients in person in advance of their wedding next week! I’m organising their celebrations for NYE in 2024, and it’s going to be EPIC. So, in honour of them, and my new shoot coming out soon, here are some pictures from a shoot I don’t post nearly as often as I should. T & M’s welcome party fell on the summer solstice, so when it came to decor, we knew we had to pay homage to the sun. We asked our florists, Dani & Foix, to make the flowers look like fire. And we asked Tanya, our stationer, for round menus to emulate the sun.
If you look carefully at the last picture, you’ll see the napkins are hand embossed with T & M’s initials, used on their website and with the video booth from their wedding day.

When Gem and Marty told me they were foodies, and that great food was even more important to them than decor, I knew was the caterer we should choose. If you ask me, they’re easily the best in Puglia. Their food looks as great as it tastes, and for this wedding they delivered in spades. It was such a genuine pleasure to work alongside Alba and her brilliant team. And to eat - that was a great pleasure, too! 😋

So we pared things all the way back, and with white table linen, we brought colour into the stationery and lighting. We chose our colour scheme by analysing the new Pinterest board, but took a lot of inspiration from Gem & Marty’s legal wedding photos in Palm Springs.

Ellie creates graphic flowers that are designed to be hired and re-used. Gem & Marty wanted their wedding to really embody minimalism. They wanted the venue to do most of the talking, and for our decor to simply highlight the beauty of what was already a paradise. On the tables, our custom-built lighting took centre stage, and we pared the rest of the table back. We put cutlery on an angle for a modern-art vibe, and had our resident graphic designer - the bride! - design the stationery to continue colour throughout the table. Plus apricots, of course.

One of the toughest questions I often get asked, particularly with new enquiries, is, ‘what does the average wedding in xyz cost?’ It’s the million dollar question! And the short answer is that the average is unlikely to be representative of what you want. The long answer is that it depends on your expectations, and believe me when I tell you that ‘simple’ is not ‘cheap’.

T&M are people oriented. The overall focus of the day was about making it great for guests. They involved their a-team throughout the day as much as possible, like having friends from both sides of the pond be MCs for the day, divulging all the secrets and in-jokes! They had another friend officiate the ceremony, and then taught every guest how to play flip cup at the end of dinner. It made for an absolutely magical atmosphere.

I’ve just put my first blog post up on the website - it’s a little intro into my world and a q&a about wedding planning. But in the meantime, here are some things I didn’t mention that might be fun to know: • I have a degree in Egyptology & Anthropology • I love a long story (though I’m probably the one telling it) • Before weddings I was in the luxury travel industry, so we can talk about honeymoons all day long, just for fun • Husband Nathaniel, kids Evie & Hugo, dogs Nico & Bruno, and cat Juno.
