As a vibrant community group dedicated to fostering connections through events and festivals, recently organized a memorable trek up Cave Hill. Starting at 6 am, 15 enthusiastic members gathered to enjoy the beauty of the hill. Despite the clouds and light wind, the trek was thoroughly enjoyable. Notably, the group's youngest member, Meera, successfully trekked the entire path. The adventure concluded with everyone savoring biscuits and tea prepared by Chintu, adding a delightful end to the experience.

🎉 Thriving Through Diversity: ImageNation NI’s Vibrant First Quarter of 2024! 🌍

As we move forward in 2024, ImageNation NI has been at the heart of creativity, culture, and collaboration. Here’s a snapshot of our journey so far:

📽️ Beyond Borders and Stories: Our year began with an inspiring collaboration on the "Finding Roots and Happiness in New Contexts" video project, directed by the talented Coen Wigbold with Beyond Skin, weaving stories of identity and joy across new horizons.

🗣️ Voices of Restoration at TEDx: We were captivated by the power of resilience and renewal at the TEDx event themed "Restore", thanks to the insightful curation by Eva Grosman and Zachary Hutchinson.

🎨 Visualising Peace with AGREEMENT: The AGREEMENT exhibition, in collaboration with artist Amanda Dunsmore and partners, delved into the personas behind the Good Friday Agreement, bridging past and present through art.

🇮🇳 Celebrating Heritage and Unity: Honored by the invitation from The Indian High Commission in London, we reveled in the Republic Day of India celebrations, embracing cultural diplomacy and friendship.

🎞️ Preserving Stories with Nerve Centre: Our venture into Contemporary Collecting and the Digital Film Archive with Nerve Centre and ImageNation members is ensuring that digital legacies are cherished and remembered.

🏛️ Exploring Roots with National Museums NI: New members of our community experienced the rich tapestry of history at the Ulster Folk Museum, while also contributing to Ulster Museum’s miniature portraits and blogs, deepening our connections to heritage.

💃 Dance Without Borders: The mesmerizing performances by Ustad Bismillah Khan Award winner Avijit Das, alongside Suchitra Varma and Dibya Basu, brought the best of Indian classical dance to Belfast, celebrating the universal language of dance.

🌏 Supporting Dreams: We stood behind Kaithlyn Clarke, Miss NI, as she represented us in India for the Miss World Contest, embodying grace and cultural pride.

📸 Capturing Moments: Partnering with Wescourt Camera Club for the 4 Corners Festival, our community members told powerful stories through "A Picture Speaks Thousand Words."

🎉 Embracing Joy and Color: Our collaboration for Holi celebrations in Newry with Hilltown Community Association and Rathfriland Regeneration brought vibrant colors and joy, connecting cultures and hearts.

⚽ Unity Through Sport: Together with MSCNI, we organised football sessions, promoting friendship and teamwork among children from diverse backgrounds.

👩 Celebrating Women: Our collaboration with the Belfast Intercultural Romanian Community on International Women's Day was a heartfelt tribute to the strength and achievements of women, marked by speeches, song, and dance.

Here’s to more collaborations, stories, and celebrations as we continue to weave the fabric of our diverse and vibrant community. Thank you for being part of this journey. 🌈
