My first wedding of the year with Dave & Niki at Scorrier House back in March was a totally emotional day and full of extra special moments. A first look with bridesmaids, Dad, and finally the sweetest first look between Dave & Niki before Niki's parents both walked her down the grand staircase together to give their precious daughter away, where the couple then read personal vows to each other. To top it off, David even reproposed to Niki first thing in the morning with the most beautiful ring 🥹 what a keeper!!

✨CONFETTI✨

If there's one thing I get excited about on a wedding day, it's confetti! One key thing to keep in mind is that if you think you have enough confetti, you probably don't. You want a blizzard for that totally epic photo! 🎉🎊

You can either get your guests to line up for the classic tunnel as you walk through, or your guests can surround you and shower you all at once with confetti.

To make the photo that little bit more epic, why not stop for a kiss and/or a dip half way down the confetti aisle?!

Whether its petals, paper discs, or confetti canons just make sure it's biodegradable and that your venue gives the go ahead 🎊

✨ THE WEDDING ✨
This is the most significant and meaningful part of your day as you walk down the aisle to finally marry your soul mate, love of your life, your best friend 🥰 There are so many little yet significant moments to be captured: the first look, a loved one giving you away, the promises you make to each other. Maybe you've both decided to write your own special vows or keep your words traditional. I will most certainly be holding back an emotional tear or two as I get so emotionally invested in my couples 💛

✨ GROOM PREP ✨

If you book a second shooter, we can capture both parties getting ready in the morning. We often find that the lads get ready in no time at all, meaning we have to tell them to slow down a tad to give us a little bit of time to capture the details like putting on cufflinks and ties etc. We've even captured groom prep where they've had time for a quick morning surf session, followed them to the local pub where they've met up with wedding guests for a pre-wedding pint, or taken the dogs for a quick run around in a field!

✨ BRIDAL PREP ✨

The calm before your wedding day officially starts. I like to arrive 1.5-2 hours before your ceremony starts. You may be feeling a little bit nervous but hopefully excited to see the day you've put your heart and soul into planning finally come to be. The key is to relax as much as possible. Put on your favourite tunes, grab a glass of bubbly, enjoy being pampered and being surrounded by your best girls and loved ones.

I'm super honoured to have captured so many gorgeous weddings over the years. My aim over the next week or so is to give you a little preview of each part of a typical wedding day that I love capturing starting with ✨DETAILS✨

When I arrive for your morning preparations, one of the first things I like to do, after saying hello, is capture is some of the gorgeous details you've put so much effort into choosing: dresses, rings, flowers etc. As well as making sure these details are definitely captured in pretty, creative locations before they’re needed, this also gives you a chance to get used to me being around before I start photographing hair & make up and candids.

✨Do I need a second shooter at my wedding?✨

📷 Firstly, what is a second shooter? A second shooter is a photographer specifically picked out by your hired wedding photographer to assist on the day to ensure that as many aspects of your amazing wedding day as possible are deservedly captured.

📷 ‘Do I need one?’, I hear you ask. Well, no, it's not essential to have a second photographer, as the wedding photographer you have chosen should be more than capable of capturing beautiful, forever memories on their own. However, there are some incredible benefits to having a second shooter that mean your once-in-a-lifetime memories are preserved forever! I also highly recommend adding a second shooter to your package if you have over 60 guests to ensure as many priceless moments as possible are captured!

Plus... you must be curious as to what your other half was getting up to in the morning simultaneously to you?! I know I would be 😄

You don’t even have to decide straight away upon booking me. As long as I’ve still got plenty of time to enrol one of the amazing photographers in my trusted network, you can absolutely make the decision to add a second photographer to your package at a later date.

Have your speeches before your wedding meal.

Why?

Public speaking can be super nerve wracking! Meaning those pesky butterflies may stop your wedding party from being able to eat.

Once those speeches are done and dusted, it's like a weight lifted off everyone's shoulders. Now, the whole wedding party can kick back, relax, and enjoy the feast without worrying about what to say or stumbling over words 🥂
