As seen on This Morning: "Best cheese toasted sandwich I've ever eaten", Holly Willoughby. Croquewich should be your pop-up food of choice. A fixture of the Cardiff street food scene specialising in artisan grilled cheese sandwiches, they really are oozing with cheesy goodness! With over twenty different fillings to choose from such as; ‘The Alabama Slamwich’, Pulled pork with home-made BBQ sauce,

‘Croqueizo’ Chorizo with sun blushed tomatoes and spring onion or ‘The Glamorgan’, Leeks garlic and onion in béchamel sauce with Caerphilly cheese and Dijon mustard. All of the sandwiches are made with local sourdough bread and a delicious blend of cheeses. For private events the sandwiches can be served with a buffet of croquettes and salads with home-made sauces and chutneys.

If Mr Croquewich did hot dogs 🌭OH WAIT WE DO! That's right - we've got exciting news - we're bringing hot dogs and Parmesan fried chicken wings to Goodsheds 🙌

We've taken on the unit next door to our existing unit to enable us to expand our menu. We've kept this super quiet while we've been working away perfecting the recipes. There's no messing around with these foot long bacon Frankfurter sausages and, as always, we make all of our sauces and seasonings in house to bring you maximum flavour 🔥

You'll find these being served from the kitchen right next door to our existing shop. OPEN NOW - we're serving 5 days a week, Wednesday - Sunday! We can't wait to see what you think 😁

This Saturday at the yard - we'll be serving for the first time just some of our new dishes that will be found on the menu at Kegbelly! Over the coming weeks we'll be releasing the full menu ready for opening - this is your chance to be the first to sample the new dishes!

This week it's chicken wings & boozy sauces and we've been recipe testing some new buttermilk biscuit buns to go with hot-dipped Parmesan fried chicken!

We'll also be serving up Parmesan fried chicken burgers, chicken boxes and grilled cheese sandwiches 🐔🧀

We're popping up at Caerphilly Food Festival this Saturday 🐔🧀 it's the first food festival of the season and we're bring the stacked up mac n cheese grilled cheese sandwiches and Parmesan fried chicken & chips boxes for you 😋

There's loads going on throughout the town, we'll be at the bottom end of town - opposite the castle near the main stage and the live bands 😁 We'll be serving from around 10am going through the afternoon 🙌 see you there!

Our Story

As seen on This Morning: "Best cheese toasted sandwich I've ever eaten", Holly Willoughby.

Mr Croquewich was launched by chef Darren Lewis (AKA Mr Croquewich!) in 2014, having spent 5 years cooking with beautiful cheeses in the French alps and on his return working as head chef in bistro and brasserie style restaurants, his passion for all things that melt saw him venturing into the street food scene. Since then we have dished out our cheesy delights at festivals, street food events, food festivals, weddings and private parties near and far.

We serve croque monsieur style grilled cheese sandwiches crammed full of homemade fillings, sauces and of course mounds of cheese. Made using our bespoke sourdough loaf and locally sourced seasonal ingredients they are oozing with cheesy goodness! We have a range of over thirty sandwiches that are ever evolving and we love nothing more than inventing new fillings and discovering new cheeses along the way.

A sample of some of our favourite Croquewiches:

‘The Glamorgan’; Leeks, garlic and onion in béchamel sauce with Caerphilly cheese, Dijon mustard and our cheese blend.

‘The Italian Job’; Goats' cheese with lemonbalm & basil pesto, sun-blushed tomatoes and our cheese blend

‘Tartiflette’; Smoked pancetta lardons, pomme risolée, Reblochon cream sauce and our cheese blend

'The Indian Summer'; Paneer with a lemon, mint and chilli dressing, red onion, coriander and topped with mango chutney and our cheese blend
