🤍WEDDING DRESS🤍
My wedding dress was the one element that I had never given any thought to and thought I was going to have a really hard time finding what I wanted but in fact was the opposite. I found my dress on the website of the bridal shop and thought that’s the one.
As you can imagine I have seen a lot of wedding dresses in my time and thought it was a complete mind field.
I would recommend finding what you think is your style on the bridal shops website before you go. I had a wonderful experience with we pulled out the dresses that I had found online and also tried on some others recommended to me and just for fun some dresses that I would never wear! My experience was a dream and I came away with my dress, I know this isn’t the norm and going to a few shops would be best but I just knew this beautiful dress from a wonderful shop was the one. Buy something that you feel comfortable in, something you can sit in, somthing you can dance in! You are in it for a long time and you don’t want to have to worry about your dress.

💄MAKEUP💄

With your whole look from hair, makeup, dress and accessories you want to be ‘The Best Version of Yourself’. Your personality shines through in all these aspects and Evie got my mine and my beautiful bridesmaids makeup spot on!

What a lovely experience we had with both Evie and Helen. My initial enquiry was dealt with Helen who was just so personable and then on the trial day with Evie which was so special going to her studio in Bishops Waltham talking through all the different products. Again I would highly recommend a trial as everyone’s skin is so different, so making sure the products suit and to see how it sits on your face for a long period of time is crucial. Making sure you’re making artist and you are on the same page, you want to be ensured that you will get what you envisaged. On the day Evie just slotted in and created exactly what I wanted for both my bridesmaid and I. Natural long lasting makeup which I didn’t have to top up once. I didn’t feel like I had anything on my face which is such a lovely feeling especially when you have this makeup on for 12 plus hours! Highly highly recommend 💋

🎀HAIR🎀

We had the wonderful Jadine come in and do our hair the morning of the wedding. Jadine is a freelance hair dresser who is based local to Stockbridge. Jadine fitted in so well with the manic wedding morning and as soon as you sat in the chair to have your hair done there was instant relax and calm!
I had a hair trail which I would 100% recommend with who ever your hair stylist is. Send over pictures in advance of the style you are looking to achieve, this means your stylist has time to process what you are looking for and your trial day will go more smoothly. My trial was great as I could have a few hours with this hair and we tweaked if slightly and we knew how much of a trim I needed when I went to the hair dressers a few weeks prior to my wedding day.
To link the bridal party together we simply used pearl pins where I purchased from Etsy.

🧁C A K E🧁

Our beautiful cake was made by I have tasted a lot of wedding cakes in my time and there are only a few people I would commission to make a cake that looks amazing on the outside and delicious in the inside is definitely part of that list!
We were lucky enough to go for a wedding cake tasting at Sue’s studio picking out our three flavours. We choose mango and passion fruit, lemon, with raspberry on the top.

The cake was displayed in the garden at the drinks reception so that our guests could see it in all its glory and was then taken away to be cut up.

My top tips with your wedding cake - make it part of your day otherwise you are going to be left with so much the next day. We had ours part of our wedding breakfast and everyone got to taste it! If doing this you need to think about when you are going to do your cutting of the cake as believe it or not this will take around an hour to cut up by your caterers.

was our amazing photographer. Fun fact about us is that I catered and coordinated her wedding day 6 years ago and that was also a marquee wedding! It was a pleasure to have Stephanie with us on our wedding day, she mingled with our guests and captured it perfectly - Thankyou Stephanie 🥰

Hints and tips for picking your photographer - remember they are with you for the majority of your day so you have to get on. We were so lucky with Stephanie as she has such an easy personality to click with. I obviously knew her from before (we met through my family friends) which definitely helped.

Availability - who you may have had your eye on for years prior to your wedding day may not be available. This is not the end of the world you will always find someone that can do what you are looking for and have the best time.

Style - all photographers have their own style and you have to love this to even consider them.

Consultation - FaceTime or phone call is crucial as you might like their style of photo but not style of approach. We were after not too many formal photos and more of the candid shots. Stephenie got that from the offset. I did approach other photographers in my planning process but were NOT listening to my requirements. This didn’t sit right with me.

Pre wedding shoot - I would 100% recommend this for you and your partner. This isn’t solely for the photo you will receive after but to be able to bond with your photographer and understand how they work in this environment. This made us really relaxed for our wedding day.

I had great pleasure of working for Joy and her family again at the weekend. Joy hands over all aspects of the day to myself so that I can pull in some great suppliers. Canapés and drinks served on arrival and then I cooked the guests a BBQ with pudding and cake to finish 💚🧡💛💙
