Our food is delicious but we don’t expect you to swim to us….

𝐒𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐲 - 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭

This is such a hard post to write - as we have to let you all know that our Food & Drink Festival in Greenhead park has, late this afternoon had to be confirmed cancelled.

We are totally heartbroken, after 48 hours of incessant rain across our site. Despite all our best efforts with a phenomenal team, in conjunction with Kirklees the call was made as the poor ground conditions mean we have to concede it is practically impossible for us to get equipment and traders onsite - this would impact on visitors both their experience and possibly safety which we hold both highly.

The forecast is set to worsen throughout the weekend and we like many festival organisers across the country have been faced with such an awful decision to make because we just can't control the weather.

Our first priority this afternoon once the decision was made was to contact all the traders, artistes, suppliers, zones, authorities, media with press releases - so please bear with us as we come to terms with our news and contact everyone who is integral to the planning and delivering of the event - they must be informed before social media.

After talking to traders this afternoon who showed us amazing support we are in agreement that this is perhaps not cancellation but postponement - once we gather ourselves we will look at rescheduling , so please keep a close eye on our social media channels for further announcements....... and be kind - we can not control the weather.

Huge thank you's to everyone who was at the park today, traders, production crew, volunteers, those on the end of a phone for us and to those traders who have emailed with such encouragement, hugs and understanding - it means the world 💟
