Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting the new home of the Edinburgh International Book Festival at the Edinburgh Futures Institute to photograph the EIBF CEO Jenny Niven. This building is where both myself and my two sons were born, and to see it restored/transformed into a mixture of old and new features was fantastic. I spent a couple of hours at Tynecastle Stadium on Saturday before the match 📸 ahead of the match, raising funds to help continue their work, supporting all generations to live healthier, happier, fulfilled lives ❤️ aims to support the Hearts family to celebrate their Big Hearts Heroes: people who have changed their lives through Big Hearts, the Club's charity. So far, they have managed to raise 21k from the event, there is still time to donate, please visit The Big Hearts Instagram channel and follow the link in the bio.

Mushroom-made clothes? 🍄🌿 showcases the future of fashion. Part of this special exhibition is Symbio from Edinburgh-based artist Emily Raemaekers. Her garment uses mycelium materials and leather made from vegetable processing waste in combination with cutting edge environmentally-friendly fabrics. Adorned with elaborate laser cut designs inspired by mycelium structures, hand carved lino print patterns and featuring plant-derived biomaterial dyes. Her work highlights some of the key issues in the fashion industry nowadays such as textile dyeing being the second largest polluter of water 🌊

It's great to be working with the team again for this years science festival, Celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, Edinburgh Science Festival opens on Saturday and takes over the capital until 14 April with a fantastic range of talks, workshops, walks and exhibitions for sci-curious of all ages, with the theme of Shaping the Future.

The Festival’s flagship family venue, City Art Centre, once again becomes a science playground, offering five floors of hands-on science for children who can make their own scab or slime, dig up a dinosaur, perform a surgery, programme a robot, build a wind turbine or become an animal conservationist… City Art Centre is the perfect family day out this Easter break.
