Traditions are ok. Waiting FOUR YEARS for a 1500 year old permission tradition sanctioned by an old dead dude is not ok.
If you are a woman, having the confidence to ask a question is one thing. Having permission to ask questions is another.
Nobody, not you, not Saint Bridgid, not women in places and spaces where they can’t ask ANY meaningful questions of men, should need permission to confirm somebody loves them enough to stand by them for life.
