The moss I use in arrangements is brought from British flower growers / farms who provide sustainable sourced moss from within the UK. This protects our natural wood lands and keep carbon feet's to a minimal.

Traditional Wreath is an elegant and naturalistic style. These are often filled with seasonal flowers and foliage. I design these either as a handmade willow base or mossed recycled wired bases or agra wool and recycled cardboard bases.

What do I love about being a small business owner?

The biggest thing I love about running my own business is that I control my own time !

My business fits around my children and their additional needs. As with sends children, there are a lot of opportunities to learnt about needs /conditions with parent workshops, endless form filling, and health professionals meetings. Plus, there's a lot more.

By using homegrown and locally source british flowers within the uk, it gives me a lot of flexibility to provide farewell flowers and floral gifts within a few days' notice. I offer specific arrangements to enable me to create beautiful floral as I may need to start and stop arrangement without affecting their longevity of the materials as nearly every arrangement is provided within it's water source.

💚 Bonnie (Petite), Katherine’s Florist choice Seasonal Flowers and Foliage. £30
💚 Lush (Standard), A mix of Katherine’s florist choice seasonal flowers and 1 to 3 of premium flowers. £45
💚 Gert Lush (Premium) , a mix of Katherine’s florist choice seasonal flowers and 5 premium flowers. £60
Custom orders are also available from £30.

Examples of Premium flowers are Roses, Hydrangeas, Lilies, Orchids, lily of the valley, Sunflowers, Dahlias, Bird of Paradise, Peonies and Anemones. But if you are not sure please leave me a message and I will contact you back.

Why is my business different from other florists?

My passion is to specialise in natural seasonal farewell flowers (always British first where possible). Farewell flowers should be unique as the person they are made for and should be kind to the environment, too.

I am making the change by . . .
💚By using as many locally grown and British flower farms and British wholesalers. We will reduce our carbon footprint of my flowers.
💚 Supporting local businesses. I ensure all my flowers, sundries, and branding materials are made from reusable materials, are recyclable, and brought from local business within the UK.

💚 I do not use any form of wrap in any of my naked bouquets or floral hatboxes. My funeral tributes may contain recycled eco paper and no floral foam at all. I avoid using all unnecessary packaging in my products.

💚All my chosen suppliers have the same passion and values on low carbon, recycled, compostable, or biodegradable products.

My favourite resource I use within my floral arrangements are Sea Shells. 🐚

As we live by the coast and often go on holiday to Devon and Cornwall. Myself and my children and I collect a few sea shells for use in my arrangements and to decorate our sand castles. These hold special memories for us.

I also often include other shells I find in local charity shops or brough from other small businesses within the UK as special requests from customers.

If you have a special colour or shape of shell request, just pop me a message, and I will see what I have in my draw.

How did my floristry journey start 💚

I was raised by my grandparents. I lost my gramps in 2019. As a family, we decided to do our own flowers for his cremation. I had lost my Nan 5 years before, and her arrangements were white Lilies. This did not relate anything about my Nan.

A family friend, Sally, offered to show us how to make our own flower arrangements the night before the funeral. I had chosen a small posy design. I had no clue what I was doing and just sticking random flowers into floral foam. All I knew was that I wanted to use red and burgundy colours as my gramps was a geneidier soldier and had a guard tie. He worn this tie every day. It's one of the main things I can remember of my childhood, and he went on to be buried with it. I'm lucky enough to have the spare tie. It's worn out and very loved.

From this, I went on to do my level 2 and 3 City and Guides in Floristry. Before launching my business last year.

Our naked bouquets are designed in an eco-vase.

The flowers within this arrangement will include my own cottage grown flowers as well as other British flowers sourced from local flower farms and suppliers. This creates free flowing wild natural arrangements with scent and natural charm. However, I can order imported flowers as requested if our british season does not provide flowers to meet your needs.

These vases are created from all the waste plastics and material removed from the sea and 100% recycable.

These vases are very strong and able to cope with everyday demands. They are reusable, frost-proof, shatterproof, and drop-proof, I've tested each and every one of these.

I use many sustainable and environmental methods within my arrangement. This includes everything from floral hat boxes, naked bouquets, and all farewell flowers. 💚

I use lots of flower tubes (especially in the spring) within my designs. Sometimes delicate stems have diffculties drawning up water from agrawool and moss, so these guarantees they have a water source. I always add a little note onto arrangement to make people aware of the flower tubes as they will need to be refilled within a few days.
