What a week… and it’s only Thursday!
I’ve had the absolute pleasure of being part of so many children’s week as we celebrate National Science Week.
This week I’ve been into:
• Damers First School
• Wyke Primary Infants
• Jumping Jacks Preschool
• Wyke Nursery
And tomorrow I’ll be at St George’s & Wyke Juniors for a very special Space Assembly & Little Dragons Preschool too.
National Science Week is all about sparking curiosity, showing children that science is not something “out there” or “for someone else,” but something they are already doing every day.
When a child builds with Lego, designs a world on Minecraft, or makes up a story about rockets, they’re practising the very same creative skills that future scientists, engineers, artists, coders, and storytellers in the UK space sector use every single day.
Did you know? Over 125,000 people work in the UK space sector, and it’s not just astronauts in space suits. It’s engineers, computer scientists, designers, writers, and even lawyers and medics.
That’s why weeks like this matter. They let children see themselves in science, feel confident to ask questions, and start to believe that maybe, just maybe, that could be me one day.
In next two weeks, I am looking forward to visiting Beechcroft & Radipole Primary & Bincombe bumps!
I LOVE SCIENCE!
