I felt so much pressure when creating this set up after the response from Sam’s gender reveal set up, but the relief I felt as soon as Sam walked in and said she loved it was amazing !As a balloon artist there is nothing better than seeing the reaction when you guys see your set up for the first time! It makes it all so worth it 🤍

1. You DON’T have to be a “YES WOMAN” forever! ❌
Of course when you’re first starting out as a balloon artist you want to say yes to everything. But don’t feel that you have to ! I have only recently realised this and within the past year I have cut out parts of the business I am not passionate about to focus on the parts that get me excited and that I enjoy doing!
2. Not every enquiry will turn into a sale 💰
In the first year of Jazz It Up I would be so disheartened when I would spend hours messaging back and forth with customers to get ghosted 👻 Unfortunately being ghosted is just part of the job. Although very frustrating… you get used to it and it’s absolutely not a reflection on you and your business. You will find your loyal returning customers and when you see a message pop up from them, the excitement outweighs the disappointment of someone else ghosting you !
3. Other balloonies in the industry are not your competition, they are your cheerleaders and vice versa! 👯♀️
God I wish I knew this earlier because I was also so afraid of asking anyone for any advice or help. I’m not too sure what I was afraid of but I absolutely could not live without my balloon besties anymore! The industry is so helpful and positive and it was such a huge relief when I realised this!
4. I really really wish I’d invested in training🎈…
…from someone experienced in the industry, as this would have made my business (& life 😂) run sooo much smoother!
It’s took me many hours of trail and error and many tears 🥲 to get to where I am now! I have always had an open mind when it comes to balloons which has allowed me to not be afraid to change my technique over time. This is why I am now confident that I am going to create a professional, wow factor looking display EVERY 👏🏼 DAMN 👏🏼TIME 👏🏼 without feeling worried or unprepared! Purely because I believe I have found the best techniques that have not failed me ever !

Since starting balloon training classes I’ve had many people saying things like:
“Well are you not worried they are going to take work from you?”
“That’s silly, you’re going to do yourself out of business”
“Be careful they don’t steal all your customers!”
Yawn yawn 🥱 this is such an old fashion way of thinking and I can’t stress enough that there is enough work in this world for EVERYONE!! Let me just put this into perspective…
•Every single person on this earth has a birthday so we don’t need to worry about getting yearly birthday balloon bookings
•People aren’t stopping having babies- more gender reveals and baby showers to decorate ! Wooo
•People are STILL getting married… oh and divorced too 😂🫣 wedding decor is still a thing and divorce parties are also now a thing believe it or not
•Babies are still being christened ✝️
And many many more celebrations, parties and events happen weekly!
So to answer the first question NO I am not worried at all and girlies supporting girlies or should I say balloonies supporting balloonies is the way forward!
I would never put someone off starting their own balloon business, or judge someone for trying their best and having a go! Because it was my day 1 once, I was a newbie at one point! So if you’re thinking about starting your balloon business or even a business, just go for it! You will never know how successful you could be unless you throw yourself into it and try it !
