Following on from the success this summer of Headliners ‘24 where we featured 8 acts filmed around the Lights……..who’s ready for a similar event to Jools Hollands New Years Eve Hootenany……on NEW YEARS EVE?

Because it’s happening!!

Love Andover and myself are putting on a ticketed event featuring popular local bands, solo artists and food in a central location…and we are going to see in 2025 in style…..who’s interested?

One of my favourite local causes Kick_Start_FC are currently in the process of walking from Andover to Wembley to raise money…..these guys are fantastic local community advocates for sports being at the forefront of positive mental health and are raising awareness for su***de prevention.

They are a bit knackered and dead on their feet and have so far raised £1500!!!

Over the last two years with the The ShowPonies - Wedding & Party Band what’s become apparent is getting out there and performing often opens up other opportunities from word of mouth or random strangers coming up to you at a gig and asking for your details to perform.

So earlier this year we played a racecourse thanks to a recommendation from another band….and then a carnival thru the same person. That was the first opportunity.

While doing the racecourse gig a lady came up and said I’m doing a festival this summer….would you please come and play….give me your details.

So, as a result…..the Showponies are playing today at a private music festival for several hundred people…..and the location…..well, you couldn’t make this up……it’s a professional horse riding and equestrian centre 😂😂😂

Funny how the universe works innit!!!!

Back home with A couple of announcements!!!

1) This Friday, 21st June The ShowPonies - Wedding & Party Band will be appearing for the first time The Clatford Arms at Goodworth Clatford…..if you don’t know this pub then check it out, great garden, staff and location. The weather is going to be gorgeous by the look of it!

2) On August 9th/10th Love Andover will be doing a beer and cider festival at the same location featuring some other amazing bands - Stonepig, One in the Chamber, Jetback Covers Band amongst other local acoustic acts.

3) The Show ponies will be supporting national DJ Chris Moyles on Saturday along with playing a few other days at this years Southampton Boat Show!!!

On Friday morning it was looking like our bank holiday weekend of 3 gigs including a wedding and two music festivals had well and truly gone totally t**s up when our thoroughbred Jimmer found himself in an ambulance to Basingstoke hospital smacked off his head for an MRI on his lower back!!!

However, with the help of several friends and a healthy quantity of tramadol or other varying tablets ending in ‘ol……we’ve somehow managed to keep the show rolling!
Thanks to Nick Lindsay for being a legend and our resident sound engineer for all your help yesterday, and also to all of the acts that performed at Angelfest!!
Also to Ben and Lucy Prescott and all your wedding guests yesterday for being an amazing crowd.

And so onto today at one of our favourite pubs in area - the amazing The George Inn - Vernham Dean where we are marquee bound and putting on a day featuring 4 leading local bands and duo’s…..who are all part of the amazing line-up for Headliners at The Lights Andover on July 20th.

Not only have we got the best Silly Sunday bank holiday line up around in an amazing location with a cracking local community!
We’ve also got 16 guest beers and ciders available!!
