For safety reasons and due to the heavy snow, we are going to close for the rest of the day.

We've taken your feedback and ran with it, getting rid of three of the benches and putting in more tables in their place.

DARK&TAN FROM CARRINGTONS COFFEE CO.
This month marks our first year of being open, and we are always looking at changing up our game and trying new things.
The first thing to change this month is our House Roast coffee.
Working with to deliver a beautiful flavour.
We have kept the signature Doghouse coffee, and have mixed our roasts!
Dark roast brings flavours of rich coconut and nut to the forefront, whilst the Tan roast brings a sweetness that kicks in after the initial flavour, leaving a long lasting flavour.
Very impressed and really excited for you to try.

NOVEMBER...
A small change for November's diary, we have a BIG live gig from on the 22nd, our Celtic Folk Night has moved for November and we are adding a second Dungeons & Dragons night into the mix.
Oh, and we are doing banging coffee, beautiful teas, adding some more cakes and expanding our menu!
Phew, that's a lot!

We are also looking for crofters to hold workshops here over weekends and during those dark and spooky winter months.

HOLIDAY....
Well, we have decided to have a short break. We are open this weekend, closing Sunday at 4pm, then back open next Friday, the 20th October, at 10am.
Still plenty of time for that coffee this weekend, and we have a new guest roast dropped.

WREXHAM LAGER......
Coming from North Wales, Wrexham Lager has always been iconic for anyone in that area.
The original brewery, established in 1882, was one of the leading pioneers in German type pilsner lagers in the UK. Originally brewed to Bavarian methods in Wrexham, it's the first lager to stake the claim of being able to be shipped all over the world during that period due to its superior keeping qualities.
And now it's been shipped up North to us.
You may of seen promoting a small football club in Wrexham that's sponsored by these chaps too! Well, why not come along to one of our events evenings and check out the sublime taste.
Traditional Wrexham Lager is a pale blue bottle, smooth and drinkable at 4%, the export has the same smooth flavour and is 5% and we have a limited edition Bootlegger 1974 bottle for you to try at 5% too.

PINK?...
Pink hot chocolate? Yes, pink. And all natural!
Made from the natural pink cocoa bean, it's a slightly sweeter flavour, with a raspberry undertone that lasts.
Making them to take pictures on here is difficult as the team tend to drink them the minute they are made! They don't last long!

September means a change to our evenings, and now we are holding most of them on a Friday.
So, let's start September off with a bang!
Tonight is Board Game Friday, and its now FREE ENTRY from 6pm.
We have about 40 contemporary board and card games, and everyone is welcome. Come in a group or alone and join others. A fantastic opportunity to play games, have a drink and meet new people.

The only live music in Windermere, between 7 and 10pm, we already have a couple of musicians coming from as far away as Blackburn and Lancaster.

GUEST ROAST - BEAN BROTHERS HUDDERSFIELD...
Oh how I love dialling in our new guest roast. My days are filled with esspresso tasting and flavour.
This months guest roasters are the Bean Brothers from sunny Huddersfield on the other side of the Pennines from us.
On our guest grinder is their Kenyan Samburu Estate, a beautiful, slightly sweet single origin, beautiful as a flat white, with upper notes of citrus to punch through the milk and lower tones of chocolate and sugar cane to leave a mellow sweeter finish to the drink. Sublime!!

JULY GUEST...WREXHAM BEAN CO.
July's guest roaster is close to home for me. Being from North Wales, I decided to go for a roaster this month that is in my birth town.
Wrexham Bean Co is the brainchild of James and Rich, both North Wales guys. Wanting to know Wrexham as more than the place football is played, they are passionate about the town as much as they are about their beans!
Burundi beans from the guys is getting dialled in now, ready for drinking, with upper notes of apple and marshmallow and an undertone of orange and berry, with an earthy low tone, this is perfect for short coffees, but don't be afraid to try it in long drinks too. Refreshing as an iced Latte!

Today I'm out and about looking for new products to bring to The Rookery.
We have some samples, some experiences, and some ideas for the near future.
Now I'm fully caffeinated and I'm going to dial some samples in over the next two days, ready for our guest grinder and check out some new teas.

GUEST ROAST...
June's guest roast is a very special, very important guest roast. The Wing by Redemption Roasters. Its like drinking a fruit cake! Top notes of caramel, with undernotes of raisin and shortbread, and my goodness, you can taste that too!
We believe in people, and in helping and working with people who need help.
are a coffee company based at HMP The Mount in London. We don't normally get our coffee from 'Dah'n Sarf' but this is an exception.
With a chain of coffee shops, and the roastery being manned by the residents of HMP The Mount, it works alongside our scheme of working with HMP Haverigg residents.
If you didn't know, most of our seasonal veg and herbs come from HMP Haverigg, along with some of our woodwork projects in the shop. Some of our team are also residents and we are working to create a skillset for them to be able to get work upon release.
Oh, it's also bloody good coffee as well!!!!!
Find it on our grinders for the whole month, and we have retail bags to go as well.

From Friday 2nd June, The Rookery will be opening until 11pm as a bar!
We want to extend the relaxed and chilled atmosphere into the evening. Come with a group or on your own, there is conversation, books and some games too!
We also have an outdoor seating area and it's time to enjoy the good weather in a quiet location with one of the best views in Windermere.

MAY GUEST ROAST...
Well, what a month April was. We sold out of our guest roast very quickly.
Our new guest is courtesy of the fabulous in Blackburn and they have pulled an absolute corker out of their roaster!!
El Jaguar is a Mexican blended bean, with very strong overtones of dark chocolate and more subtle undertones of lime and nuts.
Exceptional in flat whites, longer milk drinks or as an esspresso. What are you waiting for?

We are now the proud stockists of oat milk.
After trying many more, this ticks all our sustainability goals:
*UK made from UK oats
*clean ingredients
*packing that is totally recyclable in household recycling
*exceptional flavour.
Along with using it for our coffees and our cakes, we are selling it as well! Try it first then take some home.
