Clusia Plant A stunning little treasure for your home that absorbs carbon dioxide and in return gives you super fresh oxygen back. Toxic to Cats and Dogs if consumed 1. Lighting:
• Bright, indirect light is best. Clusia enjoys sunlight but not direct exposure, as this can scorch the leaves.
• You can place it near a sunny window with a sheer curtain for filtered light.

2. Water Quality:
• Use clean, filtered, or distilled water to avoid chlorine or minerals that can harm the roots.
• Change the water every 1-2 weeks to keep it fresh and prevent algae or bacteria buildup.
• Ensure the water level covers the bottom part of the roots but doesn’t submerge all the leaves.

3. Temperature:
• Keep it in a warm spot between 65°F to 85°F (18°C to 29°C).
• Avoid cold drafts or temperatures below 50°F (10°C), as the plant is sensitive to cold.

4. Root Health:
• Trim any brown or mushy roots to prevent rot.
• Healthy roots should be firm and white.

5. Fertilizing:
• Add a diluted liquid fertilizer (balanced, e.g., 10-10-10) once a month during spring and summer.
• Avoid fertilizing in winter, as growth slows during colder months.

6. Cleaning:
• Occasionally, wipe the leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust and maintain their glossy shine.

7. Repotting or Transplanting (optional):
• Once the roots are strong and long enough, you can plant it in well-draining soil if you want a potted Clusia.
• Otherwise, it can stay in water indefinitely as long as care is maintained.

Common Problems and Solutions:
1. Yellowing Leaves:
• Cause: Overexposure to sunlight or poor water quality.
• Solution: Adjust lighting and replace water with fresh, chlorine-free water.
2. Root Rot:
• Cause: Stagnant water or submerged leaves.
• Solution: Trim affected roots and change water more frequently.
3. Slow Growth:
• Cause: Lack of nutrients or insufficient light.
• Solution: Add diluted liquid fertilizer during active growth.

Fun Tip:

The Clusia plant can “autograph” leaves! You can gently write on a leaf with a soft object, and the “writing” will scar over time, creating a unique, personal touch. £15.00 each

I know we’re all running around getting sorted for Christmas but this video of Emma Barnard speaks volumes of what’s important. No matter how hard life gets there’s always of making a family smile 😊.
