Another successful install by the Tyrrell team!
This morning our engineers removed a faulty top oven and replaced it with a brand new Rational SCC WE, complete with a new stacking kit. The unit was wired up, connected to waste and water, and fully tested to ensure everything was running perfectly before we left site.

It’s all about keeping our customers cooking with minimal disruption — well done to the team for another top job!

🚨 Exciting News at Tyrrell Services! 🚨

We’re absolutely thrilled to announce that Rensley has been appointed into the role of Service Team Manager! 🎉

This is a huge step forward for both Rensley and the company as part of our wider restructuring plan, designed to create clear progression opportunities for everyone.

In his new role, Rensley will be the direct line manager for all field-based engineers but most importantly, supporting team development and performance. His focus? Making sure our engineers have the support they need to thrive!

For the past two years, Rensley has been the driving force behind our hugely successful refrigeration business, and while that remains a key focus, he also brings a wealth of knowledge in catering equipment and warewashing.

A blast from the past!

One of our newer engineers came across one of our old Tyrrell Services appliance tags from the 1990–2013 era. Always great to see these still in use—it says a lot!

1️⃣ It means we have fantastic long-standing customers who trust us year after year for quality service.
2️⃣ It proves that well-maintained appliances stand the test of time, saving businesses from costly replacements.

Looking back, before emails and modern systems, customers used to fax over job requests or call Graham Tyrrell (our founder) directly on his mobile while he was out on the road completing repairs! Fast forward to today, and we’ve got a dedicated office support team handling calls and emails, with 10 engineers out in the field keeping things running smoothly.

This afternoon, we hit pause on work and turned up the festive cheer with an unforgettable team Christmas celebration!

The competition was fierce with not one, but two epic tournaments—table tennis and table football—where legends were made (and egos slightly bruised). Fuelled by an absolutely top-notch spread of food, the team kept the energy levels high all afternoon.

A huge shoutout to our incredible suppliers for the brilliant gifts they donated for our raffle. We loved giving our hardworking team a chance to win some well-deserved goodies—it’s the least we could do for the amazing team who make everything happen!

We even managed to snap a team photo outside HQ (sadly missing two of our engineers). This is who makes our business so special.

Our team is the heart and soul of what we do, and it was an absolute pleasure to get everyone together, take a well-earned break, and celebrate a fantastic year. Here’s to many more laughs, wins, and good times ahead!

We don’t often share photos of our completed projects, but this one deserves a spotlight. While it wasn’t the largest or most complex job we have done, the seamless delivery—from the initial call to commissioning and handover—truly stood out. It was a fantastic team effort from start to finish, blending old and new equipment to create one happy kitchen team. Great work, everyone!

This week we had Carl Hutchings back in for his monthly sessions with our team.
We are having Carl in once a month to give the team vital training on all aspects of the trade.
This time we had 3 very experienced team member who have been doing the job a long time take his electrical safety and safe isolation course. Even though these three are experienced engineers they still took so much out of this amazing course. Every day is a school day and there is always something to learn in our quest to have the best engineers with the most knowledge working with us.
We even got Carl into one of our jackets. 😂 Could I now say we are working in partnership or colatoration with this amazing man.

we put staff training above everything else. Without quality engineers, we are unable to deliver on the high expectations of our customers! With the great CHT training school, 2 of our newest employees are getting put through their paces with safe isolation and electrical training. Everyone learned a lot and Carl’s delivery is second to none.

Tonight we turn the lights out for the last time at our current office. From Monday we will be in our new 300sqm office and warehouse. A much better space to work with and serve our customers.

**DOING THINGS DIFFERENTY**
Another brand new van. Freshly wrapped ready to go. Thank you
This van is currently a spare van. We have purchased this as we are on a recruitment drive. So it’s ready and available for any potential new starter.
People may think we are crazy and this is a mad business move. Having a brand new van that isn’t going to be used straight away.
Or people may think why not give it to an existing engineer. But all our existing engineers already have brand new vans. Our oldest van in the fleet is only 3 years old!!
However we are doing things differently. How often do people start new jobs to be given the old clapped out van to start with. With empty promises of a new one coming soon.
We don’t believe this is right. A Van is an important tool to our engineer as much as his set of spanners. We treat our engineers and staff right. How they should be treated. They are the most important asset to us.
We even have a new van ready next month. Also another one on order ready for the new reg next year.
So if you are in a job where you are not respected, not looked after, not valued. Then get in touch as we have lots of opportunities for trainees through to fully qualified engineers.
