Father’s Day is coming up this Sunday, June 16th – and it has a fascinating history!

👨‍👧‍👦 The first official Father’s Day was celebrated in the USA in 1910, thanks to Sonora Smart Dodd, who wanted to honour her father—a Civil War veteran and single parent to six children.

It didn’t become a recognised holiday in the UK until much later, but today it’s a cherished occasion to show love and gratitude to the dads, stepdads, grandads, and father figures who shape our lives. 💙
