How old do children have to be to come to a funeral?

When you're planning a funeral for a loved one, sometimes there might be children who have also experienced a loss and I often get asked how old they should be if they want to attend.

My answer is always that it's your choice, of course, but remember that children also loved this person, and may want their own chance to say goodbye. It can be a chance for them to feel as though they have had their chance to pay their respects and show their love too.
