Flowers have been a tradition at weddings since the Romans wore floral marriage garlands as a symbol of fertility, fidelity, and new beginnings. In the Middle Ages, brides began using a blend of strong herbs and spices to ward off evil spirits and bring good luck. Dill, the herb of lust and believed ability to repel negative energy, was particularly popular. As baths were an irregular treat for most until relatively recently, the fragrance of garlands was also used to help mask unpleasant odours.

You and your guests will have exclusive access to the entire venue, bar, staff, and facilities without intrusion from the public or other wedding parties, giving you the flexibility to choose your ceremony location up until the morning of the big day, regardless of (or because of!) the weather.

Despite attempting to master the sun dance, we still sadly cannot control the weather. If your heart is set on an outdoor wedding ceremony, we will make every effort to ensure that your special day goes just as you'd dreamed. But the barn itself is licensed for indoor ceremonies, and provides a beautiful backdrop. The whole venue is exclusively yours, so we can cross our fingers and toes 🤞and leave the location decision until at late as possible!

Cott Farm is home to The Barn, a country #wedding venue, and Cott Farm Furniture, a family-run #furniture shop with 600+ items in our showroom. In East Chinnock, #Somerset.

The Barn at Cott Farm is a spacious venue furnished with handmade tables and wooden chairs to seat 150 guests. Hire includes exclusive use from Friday to give you time to decorate in your own style and pack away at leisure.

Cott Farm is licensed for civil ceremonies and combines rustic charm with style and comfort. Choose to make your vows outdoors under a picturesque wooden pergola with country views, or within the comfort of the barn. There’s plenty of informal outdoor space, including your very own campsite with furnished bell tents, whilst inside the barn original wooden beams are strewn with fairylights and the natural flooring and wooden furniture offer a blank canvas to create your dream day.

Cott Farm Furniture specialises in oak and pine furniture in a range of finishes (from waxed to painted), Cott Farm Furniture offers a made-to-measure service on much of our furniture, as well as bespoke furniture design and build services. You can take home any item on our showroom floor right away. For our bespoke and made-to-measure furniture, our turnaround time is usually between four and six weeks. We offer a local delivery service for larger/heavier furniture. For customers further afield, we can arrange furniture deliveries through a courier. We also sell gifts, home accessories and art, making Cott Farm a great place to spend a morning or afternoon browsing.
