Otto Addo names backroom staff

Otto Addo has named Joseph Laumann, John Painstil, and Fatau Dauda as assistant coaches.

Laumann, a UEFA pro-License holder, previously played in Cyprus, Germany, and Vietnam. In coaching, he has had stints with Standard Liege, VfL Bochum, and Barnsley in the English championship.

Also, in the backroom, staff are former Ghana players John Painstil and Fatau Dauda.

John Painstil played for Fulham, West Ham United, and Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa before hanging his boots after featuring in two FIFA World Cup tournaments for Ghana.

The former Berekum Arsenal and Liberty Professionals player is a Ghana legend of 89 caps, a former captain and a member of the squad that won Bronze in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations.

John was a former assistant coach at Kaizer Chiefs and a CAF Licence B holder.

Fatau Dauda, a former goalkeeper of Voradep, Okwahu United, AshantiGold and Orlando Pirates, represented Ghana 23 times and featured in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The Ghana Football Association shall provide the necessary support to the newly formed technical team to ensure their success, having in mind that there will be some good moments and bad moments in this new era.

We strongly believe that with the right level of support, our collective future looks bright.

The GFA is, therefore, calling on Ghanaians to exercise patience and offer the team their full backing as we embark on this rebuilding process.

Official!!

The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association has approved the decision of the five-member Black Stars Head Coach search committee to name Otto Addo as the next coach of Ghana.

Otto will be allowed by Borussia Dortmund to join Ghana for the March international window, after which he will travel back to the club to officially hand over and take up the job permanently in May this year.

Anthony Joshua brutally knocks out Francis Ngannou in second round

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua halted Francis Ngannou's nascent climb to crossover stardom Friday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, defeating the mixed martial arts star via second-round knockout.

Joshua (28-3, 25 knockouts) made quick work of Nannou, ending the fight with a massive right overhand that knocked the Cameroonian out cold. Ngannou (0-2, 17-3 in MMA) was fighting in his second professional boxing match after claiming the UFC heavyweight crown in 2021.

Joshua has now won four fights on the trot in less than a year following his back-to-back losses to Usyk, after which there were open calls for him to retire. Asked to what he attributes his return to form, he credits his revamped backroom team.

“The Ben Davidson Performance Centre and the Lee Wylie Performance Centre with it as well,” he says. “You know who’s there and I appreciate them highly. Derrick James, Rob McCracken, Angel Fernandez, Joby Clayton, Robert Garcia, Virgil Hunter, all these guys that I worked with and it’s helped me till this day. It has helped me till this day really shaped me and I’m still learning, still pushing. I’m just hungry in it. Stay hungry and all that good stuff.”

Deputy Minister for Finance and MP for Ejisu, Dr. John Kumah, Passes Away in Germany

A piece of sad news that has taken over Ghana’s political space confirms the death of the Deputy Minister for Finance, Dr. John Kumah who also doubled as the MP for Ejisu in the Ashanti Region.

According to sources, he died in the early hours of Thursday, March 7, 2024 in Germany, where he had been receiving medical treatment for some time.

John Kumah left behind a legacy as a devoted family man, being survived by his wife, Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, and six children.

Notably, Dr. Kumah served as the inaugural Chief Executive Officer for the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP).

Under his leadership, NEIP trained 7,000 startups in 2018 through the Presidential Business Support Programme and provided financial support to 1,350 beneficiaries.

Tragic: Access Bank CEO & Wife Die In Helicopter Crash.

The Group Chief Executive Officer, Access Holdings Plc, Herbert Wigwe, is feared dead.

Wigwe was reported to have died following a helicopter crash in California near the Nevada border, United States of America, The Will reports.

There are also reports that his wife and son were also onboard the ill-fated helicopter.

New York Times reports that no survivors have been located as of Saturday morning, the authorities said.

Namibia President H.E. HAGE GEINGOB Dead.

Namibia’s third President H.E.Hage Geingob has died.

Geingob died at a hospital in Windhoek at the age of 82.

Vice President Nangolo Mbumba announced that Geingob died on Saturday morning.

“By his side was his wife and his dear children,” said Mbumba said.

Geingob became president in 2015 and was serving his second term.

He served as the country’s first prime minister from 1990 to 2002 under former President Sam Nujoma’s administration.

Geingob has battled health issues in recent months.

On 8 January 2024, he announced that he was diagnosed with cancer.

He subsequently went for a cancer treatment in the United States of America on 25 January.

He returned from America on 30 January following two days of treatment.

due to her ambassadorial deals and respected personality, she has gained immense respect both within our society and beyond. It saddens my heart when i see a lot of people mocking marriage couples. Marriage involves a deep connection on spiritual, emotional, and physical levels. It is easy to judge someone from a distance, but it is crucial to understand that every relationship and marriage faces challenges unless you’ve never been into one. It takes a mature and respectful individual to handle tense situations and resolve conflicts. Those who are married or in relationships can relate to this point. It is simple to criticize public figures like Nana Ama Mcbrown, who are constantly in the spotlight.
if one knew the true struggles that many couples who are celebrities faces before coming on TVs and radio for encouraging and bringing joy to others, you wouldn’t easily believe it. It takes bravery to put aside personal problems and make others happy. Millions of people are dying in their marriages but are afraid to quit or divorce just because of public chastisement.
Criticizing and celebrating the marriage issues of Nana Ama Mcbrown and others will not benefit anyone financially or in any other way. Many people on the internet may have their own set of problems, but out of hypocrisy and cowardice, they choose to bash someone else. remember nobody knows the struggles and issues one is battling privately. Imagine how it feels when your problems become public knowledge in the small community you live in, and people start pointing fingers at you. It is very bad you would be happy or jubilant over someone else’s collapsing marriage. Those who have experienced cheating in relationships or marriages can attest to the pain it brings. It is easy to judge from the comfort of your own home, but when your own issues are exposed and the public criticizes you, complaining about it is not justified because karma is real. those who mock her marriage issues are the same people who would eagerly take a picture with her if they had the chance to meet her in person.
