HE DOESN’T LIKE BATHING

Sister Sebebe (Not her real name): “Pastor, I have two issues with my boyfriend, he doesn’t practice good hygiene at all, I mean he doesn’t bath or brush his teeth. He is also quite stingy. What should I do?”

Me: “Thanks for your question. I will keep it brief.

Think twice before accepting to marry a man who doesn’t like to bath or brush his teeth.

Scripture says “love thy Neigbor as thyself.” Take note of the phrase “….AS THYSELF.” That means, on a normal day, a man would only love you to the degree that he loves himself.

If he doesn’t love himself enough to take a bath or brush his own teeth, I wonder how he will love you enough to care for you not to talk of pampering you or trying to ‘spoil’ you? 😀

His poor hygiene is a reflection of his lack of love towards himself. This is shown by his stinginess towards others.

Even if you mobilize people to catch him and bath him today, 😀, how about tomorrow? He needs to be taught to develop love for himself first. 🤔. Let him know that Water and soap are not enemies.

Again, let me add that Some of those who fear to bath have a psychological issue known as ablutophobia. This can be addressed by a health specialist. But if symptoms persist, bring him for deliverance.
