RaCs

RaCs All House. All the time.

A former member and one half of one of Gibraltar's most recognised DJ duos, RACS & LIMA, RaCs has been a prominent figure within the local DJ and electronic music scene for over 10 years, having performed on numerous occasions at some of Gibraltar's biggest festival's such as the Gibraltar Electronic Music Festival (GEMF) and the Gibraltar Music Festival (GMF. Largely known for a predominantly energetic and up-tempo'd style of HOUSE MUSIC infused with vocals and melodies, RaCs has had the opportunity of rubbing shoulders and sharing main stages with various established and well known DJ's and artists such as Jax Jones, 99 Souls, Yves V, Don Diablo, Low Steppa, Greco and Hannah Wants to name a few, with a warm-up set for Disciples at the 2018 Gibraltar Electronic Music Festival being one of the highlights. Whilst always remaining true to his roots by maintaining the vocal and melodic components associated with his signature style and sound, RaCs has embarked on a career as a solo DJ artist and has been experimenting and exploring various alternative styles and sounds ranging from deep, tech and jackin house music.

United On The Floor is about a dance-floor that starts and ends with its people, the music and a gathering that belongs to everyone.

Each DJ on the line-up for the upcoming event was asked one simple, but tough question - What’s one track that they feel captures what United On The Floor is all about?

There is a clear common denominator, and that’s House Music both classic and current, with each DJ sharing their selection and why they believe it fits. Watch through to hear what they picked, and why.

What other tracks would you choose? Get involved and share what you feel!

Eight local DJs. One dance-floor. No egos and no headliners. A night simply built entirely for the music and the people there for it. United On The Floor carries that intention.

A local line-up, with each DJ contributing and showcasing their sound and style, because every one on it matters equally, for a dance-floor that doesn’t care who’s playing next. Only that it keeps flowing and vibing.

11pm till late in a space for people who get and feel it. Come dance with us!

Back in 2014, 2015 and 2016, I was lucky to play at the Gibraltar Music Festival and those sets have stayed with me as peak highlights. So when I was recently asked if I fancied joining this year’s Summer Sessions lineup, there was no hesitation. It was an easy yes.

Coming back to this stage is something I’m really looking forward to and excited about. GMF has always been home turf, and a brilliant platform to showcase Gibraltar’s musical talent. Being part of its return this year at the Europa Sports Arena has already brought back some great memories.

So what can you expect from my set? Think vocal-heavy, feel-good dance music from start to finish, with some classics thrown in. Warm, uplifting and full of energy. Built to move and make you feel!

Friday 4th September. Dial in and see you on the dance-floor!
