Και όπως πάντα.. a short personal review:
For those who are too bored to read:
The 2008 WRX STi is the humble, self-made fatherless friend who faced a couple of life's difficulties, but stayed true to pure values, and who didn't cover anything up with superficial accessories or make-up. This is the independent low-key guy who doesn't skip the gym.. or leg day. If the Mitsubishi EVO IX is Floyd Mayweather, the 2008 WRX STi is Muhammad Ali. Less flashy, more traditional, and more intimidating to listen to.
For those who want a bit more of my thoughts:
Having previously driven this grip-rich, bass-rumbling, rally-hatch in wet and icy conditions back in January, I knew very well how purposeful this car's driving can be. Its 3 Limited Slip Differentials.. (L*D in front, Active Central Diff, and the immediate TORSEN for the rear) and Japanese brains compute things so well that even when setting it to "rear-biased mode" and slick, rundown Greek asphalt, the car just takes off from any situation... in ANY gear (!). I can not put into words how great this thing is on a windy road if you're into AWD.
The specific one is running right above 400hp, with a Stock drive-train. Brakes, wheels, suspension, all upgraded to the perfect amount. This owner knows his car.. Some details I liked/loved: Shifter position and shifter/clutch feel (not too heavy, but solid enough to be a part of the mechanical changes), the noise .... a rugged, masculine noise. The opposite of electric car hyms and hums.., the grip, the smooth acceleration in the turbo range, and the sense of Japanese engineering. The familiar sense that anyone who has driven an Impreza or Evo knows. Where the boring plastic bits and stuff just exist for the basic comfort of the passengers, while the mechanical components are all just 👌🏼👌🏼.
