Guyana poised to become region's agro-processing powerhouse - GMSA Head
Head of the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA), Ramsay Ali is of the firm view that Guyana is poised to become a regional leader in agro-processing once the gas-to-energy project comes on stream in 2025.
In fact, Ali, who is also the CEO of Sterling Products Limited, said the US$1.7 billion project, a critical component of Guyana’s agenda for diversification, will address the costly power generation challenges facing the manufacturing sector.

In Part 1 of this detailed discussion, Nandlall said some of these measures include the introduction of an automatic voice recording system that brought great speed and efficiency for judges and magistrates in the dispensation of their decisions. Platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams are also being taken advantage of to increase the pace at which cases are heard.

ExxonMobil, alongside its partners Hess and CNOOC, has often credited technological advancements as one of the key factors that allowed for rapid success in Guyana’s Stabroek block. In just five years, the Exxon-led consortium commenced oil production in December 2019 at the Liza Phase One project.
This performance was deemed unprecedented as it surpassed the industry standard by two years. A lesser-known fact, however, is that the technology to develop Guyana’s sweet, light hydrocarbons did not exist 15 to 20 years ago, as highlighted by the President of ExxonMobil Guyana, Alistair Routledge.
On the sidelines of the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) on May 8, 2024, Routledge explained to the Guyana Energy Conference & Supply Chain Expo the crucial role of technological breakthroughs.

As the Guyana Energy Conference and Supply Chain Expo gears for its fourth edition in February 2025, Incoming Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kiana Wilburg recently noted that plans are in the pipeline to take this event to new heights.
During an interview on EdYo FM, the CEO underscored the Secretariat’s vision for promoting the involvement of more women, advocating for greater local content development across existing and new service areas, and championing those global best practices that suit the Guyana context.
