🌈✨ Cushion Revival backstory + a DIY option✨🌈

Sneak peek! At The Tepee Tribe we love to share the backstory of our work, highlighting our commitment to sustainability. We’re always updating and replacing when needed, and all the equipment we hire is well cared for and maintained. There’s no need to buy new every time and that is the ethos behind The Tepee Tribe of trying to create more sustainable birthday parties and gatherings.

You won’t believe the magic we worked this weekend on our beloved linen and cotton cushions! We used Rit dye to breathe new life into them. They’re looking just as gorgeous as when Candy crafted them in Shenzhen!

After countless washes, a few of them needed a little TLC, and wow, did they get it! Now they’re all revitalised and ready to rock the next round of teepee parties this weekend! Plus, all our mattresses are brand new and comfier than ever, with mattress protectors always used on all of them. Everything is meticulously stored in our warehouse in Ap Lei Chau which happens to have some of the best views over the Lamma channel.

We’ve got loads of great themes, but equally, we can provide you with a DIY option of blank canvas of white tents, white bedding, white bunting, and a choice of twinkle light colors or leafy teepee toppers if you would like to DIY your own theme.

We meticulously wash and launder all bedding and materials, ensuring everything is fresh and clean after every booking. We also perform thorough cleansing on tray tables and all items used.

We have partnered with Teresa’s Turkish Towels and offer beautifully embroidered towels that you can have personalised with the embroidered names of your guests.

Hi everyone, at The Tepee Tribe we get much of our bedding made by the very talented Candy in Shenzhen. I recently went up ( using my new mainland travel pass- so super easy) to order some replacement sheets and some new mattresses for the business.
Candy can literally make anything- she’s created bespoke mini quilts for us and beautiful star shaped cushions and she makes lots of our bunting and also the mattresses we use for our parties.
For my own home I’ve had linen Roman blinds made and outdoor seat cushions made and numerous cushion covers. She even made me a fantastic puppet theatre once and we spent ages working out the dimensions and logistics.
The reason I’m posting-the fabric market at Lowu mall is closing!!!!! Aghhhh
However Candy is STILL THERE - she’s moving now to the third floor. I’ve included her card and map of how to get to her new shop.
Back in the day I would regularly go up with work colleagues and we would shop and get clothes made and I would always get something for the home made from Candy. Seems like post Covid not so many folks are making their way there or are perhaps newer to Hong Kong and don’t know how cool it is to go and get bespoke things made.
When I had my twins she did the most beautiful Chinese silk and cashmere cot blankets - she’s made me table runners and bespoke place mats for Christmas.
I think nowadays it’s so easy to order from Amazon and Taobao - but in reality the quality is not a patch on what Candy does and that’s why I still use her.
When I set up The Tepee Tribe she was my first port of call, I took my own fabrics up as well- things I had bought on Spoonflower ( if you’ve never looked at this site- it’s addictive! So many amazing fabrics) and we got such beautiful things made.
So it’s my recommendation to try her out- she has many clients who still order now from her who have left Hong Kong. During Covid when I couldn’t go up she was still making things for me and sending down to HK. I trusted her so much I knew what she was doing would be good.
So much of her work can be seen in any of our Tepee parties. All this stuff gets washed on a regular basis and is still going strong and looks beautiful after 7 years in some cases!
