What a fantastic afternoon in the Garage Theatre for the Speks at the Tradoodle Festival! Allie and Grace were glued to the stories and music as was I 😍🎵🪕
If you can get yourself and your little people up to the Iontas tomorrow for the family day!

On Saturday 8th June 2024, Moco Music Academy 🎭 took to the Garage Theatre stage to perform the magical Peter Pan. This was Moco Music Academy’s 3rd time performing in the Garage Theatre Monaghan. What an amazing venue with such wonderful staff and it gives performers the most professional experience with lifelong memories. Each and every performer rose to the occasion of 2 shows on the one day and made themselves, their families and Moco Music so proud. The cast were so enthusiastic and wanted to share their ideas as to how their character should act and how to block off scenes during every rehearsal! It is so refreshing to see the confidence in their ability soaring and how much they enjoy the rehearsals. ❤️Every week we had lots of fun, they were full of life, they made so many beautiful friendships with children they would never have met before!! This is what this is all about and why I put it on every year! I still have people from the first musical ‘Olivia’ I undertook in 2009 (wow 15 years ago!) come up to me and talk about the lovely memories they have of it. It did my heart good as well to see a few old cast members involved with the musical in St Louis’s Secondary School this year! Every year this experience is so different but it is always such a rewarding time. Members from last year have been so encouraging to new members saying that you will be nervous before you go on stage but you feel so good after it is over!!! What wonderful words of wisdom!! There have been plenty of laughs, so much creativity, very few tears, a lot of forgotten dances, lines and blocking of scenes but most of all so many new friendships and wonderful, lifelong memories made.'🎵🎭🎙️🌈
Moco Music Academy would like to thank Cathy Bennett, Dylan and the staff at the Garage Theatre for their hospitality, it is a fantastic and a very impressive facility. They make this all so easy to organise! A huge thanks to Peter Cosgrove, Paula Sherry, Shane Sherry,

Amazing from each and every performer! I’m so so proud of them all! It’s not easy getting up but they did and they did it so well!!! 👏 some have only been playing for a few weeks!!!
Thank you to all who attended the concert, no concert without a crowd and a supportive crowd makes all the difference!! ❤️ Progress is being made and so many happy memories and friendships which is what it is all about!!!
Have an amazing Summer everyone and hopefully plenty of music will be enjoyed with hopefully some sunshine ☀️
Here is a mixture of all the groups playing, it was hard to not put all of it in 🥰

Such an exciting few weeks for our students!!! Last Friday night showcased all of our music students in an end of year music concert!!! They were fantastic!! 👏
I say it time and time again, it is not easy getting up in front of people to perform and they all do it with such enthusiasm and pride!! ❤️ They are such a great bunch and each and everyone should be so proud of their progress this year!! Amazing singers and musicians!! And a special well done to my adult group who got up and performed so wonderfully 🎵🎤
I thought I had remembered to mention all of the Fleadh Winners on the night but I forgot to say Katie McCrystal who came 3rd in the 12-15 Bodhran. I was too busy listening to her fab voice 🎤 I hope I didnt miss anyone else out 🙈
Thanks to Mammy, Paula, Pauric, Enda, Julie and the staff at the Sliabh Beagh Hotel for helping with the raffle, sound, getting and donating raffle prizes and setting up the hall! Makes everything so much easier 👏
Here is the final song of the night - Beeswing 🐝 and I had the pleasure of performing it with all of my students!!! Until September everyone, have an amazing Summer ☀️ Make plenty of lovely memories and play plenty of music 🎵
If anyone took a video from the music concert, please send it on to me 🎥
On the 10th June 2023, we took to the stage in The Garage Theatre to perform Robin Hood and the Sherwood Hoodies as part of the Cruinniú na nÓg programme. Every performer on stage was between the ages of 4 and 11 and they got to experience performing in this impressive, professional facility that is available in our local area. We truly thank the The Garage Theatre 🎭 for being an absolute dream to work with, to Cathy Bennett for all of her help and to Dylan Connolly and his team Kayla and Ryan for all their expertise with the lights 💡 and sound 🎵, they brought the show to another level.
A massive thanks to Monaghan County Council, LAEP, Cavan County Council, Creative Ireland, Creative Monaghan and the Cruinniú na nÓg programme for funding this event! This programme is amazing 👏 and funding like this is so important for allowing the Arts 🎭 to be inclusive to everyone. It gives children all around the country access to free Arts events and it is leading the way for proving that the Arts have no many wonderful and worthwhile benefits to help people live a happy and confident life ❤️
This cast journeyed their way into the depths of Sherwood Forest and discovered the hilarious truth behind the legend of Robin Hood 🏹in this great musical comedy. When the evil Sheriff of Monaghan and his brainless guards threatened the villagers, feisty Maid Marion hired a band of freedom fighters for protection. But when Robin and his Merry Folk arrived, she soon discovered they are not exactly what she had ordered! With no time to lose, she persuaded these hapless heroes to take centre stage for the performance of their lives.
The cast were a fantastic group of children and they displayed their talents so beautifully and with plenty of humour on stage. Every parent should be so proud of them all! This experience every year is so different but always such a rewarding time. From getting those shy children who were too scared to even say a word or stay without t
Look at these absolute stars ⭐️ A great session organised by Nicola Cusack and Scotstown Comhaltas Craobh Éamonn ÓMuirí! These are such wonderful social events that help children to learn new music and gain new friendships ❤️🎵
Many thanks to Kathleen Murray for the video who was also so so impressed with all the fabulous talent playing music 🎶 and dancing 🕺 that day!
Kathleen is holding a daffodil 🌼 day on Friday 24th March in Scotstown from 9am to 6pm. Please support as she is always there to support everyone else in our community 🌼

Wishing all of my students and their families the best musical and magical Christmas 🎄 and New Year!! 🔔
This was such a wonderful term with Moco Music Academy!!! We had a Cnoc an tSallain Christmas Concert which was amazing and here is Motherland which they performed so well!! We also had our annual Christmas Carol service (I have not one photo 📷 or video from it so please send away to me) which was equally as amazing and jammed packed!!! I am very proud of each and every single student!!! I hear Santa brought a good few instruments this year!!
And I finished my musical year off with a very enjoyable session with the Eamon O Mhuire Comhaltas branch last night in the Sliabh Beagh Hotel!! 🎵🎄🎅❤️
Thanks to you all for your support, next year will bring even more musical fun!
Tonight is all about Moco Music Academy’s singers 🎙 and musicians 🎸 🎻 !!! This was a first for the school to have a music 🎼 only concert in the Sliabh Beagh Hotel and what a concert it was!!!! The talent around this part of the country is just outstanding and especially considering that most of them have only been playing since last September🤩!!! To say I was a proud teacher is a massive understatement🥰! What these students did is sometimes taken for granted, it is not easy to play an instrument never mind with other people and in front of a large crowd and they did it so well and so confident!!! You should be very proud of each and every one of them, they are a credit to you!!
I loved ♥️ every minute of this concert and I have attached the final song of the evening Grace (one of my all time favourites😍) which was an honour to play with everyone! My only regret is that I didn’t record it from the stage, it was one of my proudest achievements with performing music, the students were playing and singing and the audience joined in, it was magical 🤩
Thanks to Enda who didn’t really know he would be on stage for the whole concert looking after the sound 🙈 he loved it really and to Mammy for looking after the raffle and to everyone who attended and joined in and give these students the audience that they deserved for the work they have put in! 👏
