Whoever is dumping their pots outside our garden centre please stop! We don’t want them! If you’re able to go to keanes in kilcolgan to buy the plants, bring them back the empties. Also maybe read the sign which you leaned the bag up against.

We were very happy to donate the trees to Alex who created a micro-forest using the miyawaki method (It is outside Gort na Rí estate on the glenbrack road) as one aspect of his Gaisce award program. He measured the site , dug a trench for daffodils around the perimeter, put down a cardboard underlay, then a thick layer of farmyard manure, then a thicker layer of wood mulch. Finally then he was able to plant a mix of native Irish trees at a density of around 5 per square meter. It should become a haven for wildlife and biodiversity. Looking forward to seeing it flourish. The whole project cost nothing but time due to the generosity of donors of manure and wood mulch. Gort Tidy Towns
