Talk about longevity ! ! My floristry students made lots of seasonal wreaths before Christmas , one of which was still adorning the main college door and looks like this today , all made using fresh foliages w we hugh were foraged by the students themselves but we added a few faux flowers for zero maintenance reasons ! !
Very impressed that it withstood the wind , rain and all the adverse weather over the past 4 weeks ! It still looks great ❤️🥶

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas Day & enjoying your time relaxing with your family ,
I need to take a moment to thank a few people for making this year a special one for me.
Firstly & most importantly Thanks to Horkans Garden Centre & all the amazing staff here who just know me so well now at this stage and know when I’m under pressure and when I’m up for the craic too , they are an amazing crew and same applies to the helpful & understanding staff in the Edinburgh woolen mills ( thanks so so much for the help yesterday ! 🙏) and also to the The Bay Leaf & staff for their tremendous support too.
Also want to thank all those that employed me or requested my services over past year again~ Údaras na Gaeltacht ,The Family Centre, Flourish Social Prescribing Mayo, Mayo College of Further Education & Training and Mayo North East with whom i facilitated floristry courses, workshops &
night classes but most of all thank to Westport College Of Further Education for employing me as floristry teacher at the mayo college . It sure has been an exciting year for me .
A special thanks to all those nearest and dearest for their suport and love every single day , and for those who follow me on here and I want ye to know that all your likes , comments & shares help me and my small business tremendously , I have always said it but Facebook has helped me so much and has lead me to places I would have never dreamt of .
It’s not easy running your own business with the soaring costs of everything over the past few years & daily hours of driving but folks i couldn’t do without yer love and support , thanks a bunch. 🥰Christmas blessings to you all.

My students had only minimal flowers today but they still created some fabulous pieces all the same , 👏👏👏, and everyone brought in their own greenery/ foilages from home .
Today it was an open oasis wreath design which is part of one of the modules on the QQ1 floristry course at Mayo College of Further Education & Training

And It was floral arranging class in Achill today where grave and door wreaths were on the agenda. There were many in this class who had absolutely no prior experience , so I think they may get hooked on the floral arranging after their great first attempts today . 🥰

The winter sun shining in the window today onto our floristry tables was so nice & heart warming .
Thanks to my fabulous floristry students for all the foraging they did and all the freshly picked lovely foilages they brought into class this morning . I was so impressed as it was a very cold evening last night and a minus - 5 degree temperature this morning ,
In college today we made a few more wire ring based wreaths . We made the most of what was plentiful & free ! in our own hedgerows & localities . And then added a few faux flowers so that the wreaths will be almost maintenance free & look great all Christmas long ❤️🎄🥰🎅
I think the classroom
cleaning up took longer than the actual floristry work !

It’s felt just great to be back in Horkans again this morning after a few days of absence due to weather conditions - like storm , ice , snow & gale force winds ! ! ! and my other work of floristry teaching that I had on .
I had a wonderful and krazy busy today and it felt so good , here are a few of todays pieces that I made in store and I’ll be back again first thing in the am and on Sunday too so why not call in for a walk about , the place is just beautiful and you will most definetely get all your Christmas shopping done under the one roof , ❤️from Dee xX

I was so impressed with my ladies last night 🥰. They ventured out to floristry class in sub zero temperatures for their last class in this term. They all made their very own handmade door wreaths from scratch ~ using just the simple wire frame . Beautiful work , little did we know and what a shock we got when we saw the amount of snow that was falling and how treacherous the roads were when we were going out the door , thankfully all my wonderful students got home safely thank god xx 🥰

Just in the door home this second and I was all so chuffed with myself driving home tonight , as my floristry class at the Castlebar college were in top form tonight and worked wonderfully all evening , they didn’t even take their eyes off the ball for one second over the 3 hours of class. Well done class , ye were so creative and inspirational . ~ a mighty class altogether 👏👏
