Knockatallon is renowned for its warm welcome to visitors with the Sliabh Hotel and Tourism Centre providing the focal point for visitors from all over the world. Over the years, encouraged by late Willie Mc Kenna, a special bond has been developed with the people of Prince Edward Island in Canada. Knockatallon has hosted many tour groups, politicians, Mayors and other dignitaries over the years. With each visit the ties of friendship have been strengthened.
On Wednesday 17th July, a warm welcome was extended to two visitors from PEI, Joanne O’ Keefe and Judy Hughes. Almost fifty people gathered to meet the visitors and reminisce about the Barratitoppy Ceili Band’s visit to PEI in 1999. The evening started with a delicious meal served in the restaurant, followed by entertainment in the bar led by Joseph Mc Kenna, and various entertainers.
The organisers would like to thank all who made the night such a success and wish the visitors a safe return to PEI.
