Clonmel Regional Sports Hub played host yesterday to the Community Games Regional track finals where Tipperary were one of 10 counties competing. On a glorious day where the sun shone brightly young athletes ran like they were competing in their own olympics such was the determination and effort on display.

All the athletes from Tipperary competed excellently with the blue and gold singlet at the start line of many finals on the day πŸ‘ Well done to each and every child who competed yesterday, a great achievement to represent their county at this stage of competition. Tipperary had 3 podium finishes yesterday with Evan Ryan, New Inn-Knockgratton claiming silver in the Boys U14 100m; Sarah O'Dwyer, Newport silver in the Girls U8 60m and Cate O'Brien, Newport finishing 3rd in a very competitive Girls U14 800m.

Congratulations to our three medal winners who have now qualified for the Community Games National Athletic finals in Carlow on 24th August. We wish them every success there as they join the other Tipperary athletes who in securing gold medals at the county finals had already qualified for the National Finals.

Thanks to all associated with Clonmel Regional Sports Hub for the use of their excellent facilities and to all the many community games volunteers from Tipperary who again ensured the smooth running of all proceedings yesterday. Much appreciated πŸ‘
