// Let’s talk alterations //

- Alterations are going to likely be needed on any dress that you buy in order for the dress to fit you perfectly.

We are all different sizes, shapes, heights etc and we all know just by shopping the hight street that it’s not one size fits all and sizing is not consistent between designers.

This is likely going to be the case and you will probably need some alterations when buying off the rail/ ready to wear and even when ordering from a designers sizing chart as closely to your size as possible.

- Always factor in the cost of alterations in to your budget when buying your dress! Specialist bridal alterations are familiar with the construction of wedding gowns and usually with specific designers that they work on often.

Depending on the alterations that are needed this can vary widely. I have had reports from brides who have spent between a few hundred to a thousand euros on alterations. You absolutely get what you pay for with bridal alterations and quality alterations are an investment in making your dress yours.

We have a list of lovely and trusted bridal seamstresses that we can recommend if you need!

- When it comes to reselling your gown after use, although these alterations may have cost you - we do not factor the alterations costs in to repricing your gown.

These custom alterations mean the dress is now tailored specifically to you, which makes reselling it later more challenging. The dress has now been fitted to your exact measurements, style preferences, and body shape.

This personalised fit might not work for another bride, so while the alterations add value to your experience, they don’t increase the resale value.

This is something to keep in mind before submitting your dress for resale, alterations are an investment for your own day!

All rentals include return postage and dry cleaning and can be booked directly through our website. You can also book a free try on appointment in store!
