The day you say ‘I do’ to your beloved is a day you will cherish forever. No doubt you want everything to go just perfectly.
It is not hard to find somebody who is registered to carry out civil marriage ceremonies, what is not so easy to find is someone you can connect with. Someone you genuinely trust. Someone who will work with you both and create a bespoke ceremony that reflects you both as a couple and the love you hold for one another.
I can officiate at non religious, semi-religious or mixed faith ceremonies and include any cultural additions or traditions that are meaningful to you both, such as hand fasting or the sand ceremony.
Depending on availability, I can be booked 7 days a week. I am based in Co. Wexford which has an abundance of beautiful locations in which to hold a wedding. I will travel to other places.
Think of your ceremony like a stage production – it doesn’t matter how good you look, how good your costumes are, or how good the set or music is, if the script and its delivery doesn’t cut it, then the event won’t be a hit!
A LITTLE ABOUT MICHELLE
I am a professional, energetic and bubbly person who just loves weddings. I love the joy, the magic, the charm and the sheer magic of the day.
I always felt that I would love to work with couples and families to create ceremonies that reflect the unique qualities of each couple and their very special unique love story. A day that will be remembered in their hearts forever.
I made a decision to become a fully qualified celebrant through the Irish Institute of Celebrants (IIOC). The training I completed with the IIOC has provided me with the accreditation and practical knowledge to make this dream come through.
I pride myself in presenting wedding ceremony’s very professionally with a warm and fun twist!
WHAT IS THE PROCESS
Once you get in touch, I will arrange a face to face meeting or Skype call which usually takes around 1 to 2 hours. During this consultation we talk through your ceremony from start to finish. What ideas you both have, who you want to include in your ceremony, the music you both love, ceremony enhancements you would like to include and so on.
After our consultation we write and create your ceremony uniquely for you and send you the first draft for your review. Leading up to your big day, we go back and forth making any amendments and additions. I plan another call a few weeks before your ceremony where we finalise the ceremony. On the day I will be at your venue an hour before the start of the ceremony to ensure all is in hand.
WILL OUR CEREMONY BE LEGALLY BINDING
At present, under the “Marriage Provisions of Civil Registration Act 2004” IIOC celebrants have not been granted the authority to legally sign your marriage certificate. However, we do anticipate this changing.
Because I am not legally permitted to sign the marriage certificate, I am able to conduct your dream wedding ceremony in your choice of venue with limited restrictions. The choices are endless (almost!).
HOW DO WE GET MARRIED LEGALLY IN IRELAND
All of the information on legal marriages in Ireland is on the HSE website. Irrespective of whether you are an Irish citizen or a foreign national, anyone marrying in Ireland must give three months notification before they marry. You must make this notification in person to any Registrar.
There are different legal ways of getting married in Ireland; you may choose a religious ceremony, a secular (non-religious) ceremony or a civil (legal) ceremony. Whatever way you choose to marry, (i.e., through a civil, secular or religious ceremony), the registration process is the same.
You are issued with a Marriage Registration Form (MRF) by the Registrar, following the notification appointment, which gives you authorisation to get married. This document is then passed onto a HSE registered solemniser, who will witness the signing of this document so if you are legally marrying at a Registry office, this signing will take place there.
If you choose an IIOC celebrant (like me), you can complete the legal signing at a registry office before or after your dream ceremony. This means that you would need to arrange an initial appointment with the HSE to give notification (which everyone has to do), then later a second appointment to sign your legal documents.
WHAT ARE YOUR FEES AND WHEN DO YOU REQUIRE PAYMENT
My fee for a wedding ceremony is €450 * which include the initial consultation, ceremony creation and celebrating your wedding.
A deposit of €150 is required at our first consultation which can be paid by cash, cheque or bank transfer. The remaining balance is paid at least four weeks in advance of the scheduled ceremony.
