I just watched a very interesting interview on TV featuring a lady by the name of Cathy Stritch, she organises and runs Grief Retreats. She is a Life Coach by profession and came up with this wonderful idea having experienced her own personal loss and grief.
She has also just launched a new Pod Cast today which will enable people to connect with others who are suffering, this caters for all types of loss.
This I'm sure will be of great comfort and support to many, I wish her well on her journey.

It's been three years since I qualified as a Professional Funeral Celebrant, looking back little did we know what lay ahead for all of us? So many of you having had to say goodbye to family and friends under extremely difficult circumstances, including our own family.
I would like us all to reflect today and remember those who sadly passed and whose lives could not be celebrated though a traditional funeral .
Sending love and hugs xx Sandra

Good morning everybody... I hope that all those Dad's out there are enjoying being pampered and breakfasting in bed!
Father's Day can also be a day to reflect and remember our loved one who are no longer with us , it will of course be a difficult day for those of you who have lost your Dad during recent times...the first one is definitely tough . Just remember the good times past and say a little prayer in thanksgiving for having had a good and loving Father.
Hugs to all xx

At Easter time each year I think of our loved ones who have passed on, as a Funeral Celebrant and a member of our local church choir, I find the Easter celebrations very moving and at the same time uplifting. It is also a time to reflect and count our blessings. I wish you all a very happy Easter and look forward to a sunnier Springtime ahead xx

Hello everyone, I hope that this post finds you well . Just a quick post to update you on my journey as a Funeral Celebrant.
Now that we are coming through this dreadful pandemic and are advised that this is something that we perhaps , will have to accept we will be living with for some time to come , I do believe that we are now in a place where we can thankfully again make plans and look forward to getting back to some kind of normality?
Over the past month or so I have been contacted by families who lost a loved one during the past two years and due to lockdown and the inability to organise the funeral they would ordinarily have arranged . They are now approaching me with the hope of finally , as a family , celebrating the life of the loved one they have lost and in some cases finding closure in sharing in their loss with close family and friends.
I have found that each Memorial service have been quite unique in a way as the family have had more time to plan and reflect on the life of the deceased? This I feel in itself, has given solice and comfort to the bereaved and time to embrace the happier times shared though their lives together.
Most of us have lost someone close over this past couple of years , including my own family , it has been difficult and as we have come to accept, unprecedented times.. thankfully , we are seeing light at the end of the tunnel and we must remain strong and face whatever the future will bring.
Sending prayers 🙏 ❤ and love to you all..
Sandra xx

I received a lovely letter from Bishop John Buckley yesterday, posted to my workplace in the South Infirmary Hospital. He had read the piece in the Echo about my funerals and wished me well saying people such as myself were a great comfort to families who have lost a loved one. He also said that it is important to be sympathetic and understanding when involved in these ceremonies.
I was absolutely delighted to receive such validation from Bishop Buckley as I have always stated that Celebrants are going to be more involved not only in Civil ceremonies but in all types of alternative and religious rituals in the future. At the end of the day, our part is to create and deliver a service in a respectful way on behalf of the families of the deceased.
I thought I would share this with you as I definitely feel that this is a step in the right direction in our place in funerals going forward.
