Nice way to start the new year,

We had the pleasure of having Matt as our videographer for our wedding and we couldn’t have picked a better person. Very kind, chatty personality and On the day he was very professional but also was able to have a bit of crack which made us all feel relaxed and enjoy the more serious parts on the day. Our video and highlights are just perfect, really brought us back to how special our day was. Highly recommend Matt.

Getting Married in Ireland during Covid -19 Delay Stage

Yesterday, I was the wedding videographer for a brave couple who not only chose the date of Friday the 13th to get married, they decided to go ahead with their wedding ceremony in the midst of the all the confusion that Covid-19 is causing.
The ceremony was held The Station House Hotel in County Meath. The couple followed the governments advice to restrict numbers to under 100 people for their wedding gathering.
Naturally as their wedding videographer, I was a bit anxious attending a gathering in a public place however from the minute I stepped into the Station House, I was immediately reassured. The hotel manager Emma had strict protocols and procedures in place to ensure all wedding guests could feel safe and protected against the spread of the virus on the day. Upon entering the reception room staff had set up a hand disinfection area. I was very impressed with the level of professionalism that the staff showed. Every hour the hotel team discretely made a sweep through the hotel, cleaning and disinfecting all hard surfaces like door handles, counter tops etc. They were obviously extremely well briefed.
The beautiful ceremony was held outdoors and guests enjoyed refreshments afterwards on the open air plinth. In the reception room itself, I noticed that there was extra care taken to separate the guests tables and hand sanitation stations were available at all times. Obviously all these precautions and measures are additional tasks for the busy hotel’s staff however they remained extremely upbeat and took it in their stride.
Yesterday was a great example of how with some forward planning and collectively following ‘new norms’ we can continue to carry on with life’s important moments. Well done to Emma and all her staff at the Station House.

This weekend I had the pleasure of attending Ireland's largest wedding show in the Citywest Conference Centre in Dublin called the Wedding Journal Show, January 11th and 12th. Over the two days thousands of couples came along to the dhow to get ideas on how best to plan their perfect wedding, look at popular wedding venues and meet potential wedding suppliers.

The show staged the most up to date wedding fashion and styling and one lucky couple won the massive 35,000 euro worth of a wedding competition prize that was up for grabs on Sunday. Larges shows like this are a great way for couples to get lots of service booked under one roof. Many attending were just starting out on their wedding planning journey and had come to get lots if inspiration and ideas.

As one of the busiest wedding videographers at the show I had the pleasure of meeting nearly a hundred couples in person and showcasing my high quality, competitively priced wedding film packages to them that feature no hidden costs.

The big concern that couples have when planning a wedding is trying to manage the budget. It is clear that value for money is the key decision when choosing suppliers and the avoidance of unexpected hidden costs that can blow the budget is also another key consideration. There is nothing worse than thinking you are getting a great deal and then discovering that there are extra costs for this and that on top of the package price. The best wedding planning means sticking to your budget and ensuring each supplier really does offer you value for money and transparency around costings.

Many thanks to all the Couple's who visited and chatted with me at my stand at the Wedding Journal Show last weekend at City West. Its was a great show and I think I managed to meet up with over 50 couples. A lot of couple were asking about civil ceremonies and the different of types of celebrant. Spiritual, Humanist etc, so here's a clip of an interview I filmed last year with Humanist celebrant Joe Armstrong. It might helpful if you are thinking of a Humanist ceremony. https://www.mattryanfilms.ie/an-interview-with-joe-armstrong-humanist.

In Response to the many requests by our clients (Brides) we visited Dylan Bradshaw’s hair salon in Dublin to talk to Dylan about the “12 Week Blow Dry”.
