Last week, I was honoured to make this peony and rose bouquet for Nuala's vow renewal to her husband Davey on their 50th wedding anniversary. She never got to wear a white dress at the time, so it was fitting that she wore this stunning creation now, surrounded by all of her family and friends. Apologies for the radio silence, it's been a busy week or two of work, peppered with hospital visits, a minor surgery (for sproutling #3, he's fine), and the small matter of birthday parties all weekend for the sprouts... tiring but happy.
While all this was going on, 2 gorgeous people got hitched up in Miltown Malbay... and I got to hang out with my bestie !

Hey all, hope you're sufficiently full of refined sugars after the eggy season!
I'm taking some time off to hang out with the sprouts before they go back to gilly-golly, and also to go on a little busman's holiday, so there will be no local deliveries/collections available until after I get back next Thursday 11th. Yesterday could not have been more perfect for Mary and Gareth's wedding at Armada Spanish Point. It was a perfect sunny spring day, so much so that they were able to have the ceremony outside, overlooking the sea. Mary chose a stunning palette of red and pink which was a joy to work with, so I gathered together an eclectic mix of romantic scented pink o'hara and red naomi roses, funky protea, floaty hellebore and botanic lisianthus, as well as yummy pom-pom ranunculus and other tasty noms. Hope you had the most wonderful day! 💗 💛 💖 💕 🍄

Thanks so much to all the wonderful couples who braved the ominous weather to come along to yesterday's Munster Wedding Extravaganza at LIT, it was so great to meet you all! For the last 3 days, I was lucky enough to spend time at the Chapel Designers Conference in Slane Castle, hosted by @hollychapple, and attended by some of the most wonderful florists in the business, from Brazil, Puerto Rico, USA, Canada, Switzerland, the UK and a wonderful Irish contingent, headed up by Lorna @aroominbloom and Jenny @flowersbymoira, as well as Sylvia @bellabotanica, and guest tutors @maxowensdesign and @bloomandburn 3 days of working with the most gorgeous flowers and foliage from @hoekflowers, @alexandrafarms, @wicklowfoliagefarm and @flowerfarmersireland, culminating in a wonderful gala dinner at the castle, surrounded by all our hard work. It was intense, inspirational, and emotional, and I have made some wonderful flowery friends that I hope to see again in the future. 2023 was a really special year for weddings, working with some gorgeous couples, wonderfully talented suppliers in some beautiful venues; I've tagged many of you, but there are far more than I can mention. Thanks so much for asking me to be part of your big day! Once again, like last year, I will be making a donation on your behalf to the wonderful @hometreecharity to plant 100 trees on your behalf in their temperate rainforest in West Clare, which works out at approx 3 trees per wedding. It will never atone for all the carbon expended in creating the flowers for your wedding, but it will be a lasting legacy which will hopefully be enjoyed by many generations to come.
