CHOOSE US! If you want the whole Ghan House to yourself & your guests — then you can! Our wedding packages for over 30 guests include exclusive use of the whole house & gardens, which means no other guests apart from your own!

Alternatively, for smaller weddings, you can hold your Civil Ceremony followed by dinner in your very own private dining room.

Civil Ceremonies & wedding receptions up to 54 guests can be accommodated by Ghan House. We have a gorgeous private dining, log fire, sound system operated by your ‘phone and mountain views & lough views.’

Ghan House – Christmas ‘Take it Away’!

Want to be ready for Christmas Day at home – without any hassle?

We will prep your Christmas dinner for you! – all you have to do is follow our simple heating instructions – this year we will are ditching the whole turkey in favour of the turkey crown – more space in your fridge, zero bones & still prepped same way as we do the whole turkey!

Vegetables dishes & roast potatoes will be 1/2 cooked – you finish off in the oven & it’ll be ready before you know it!

If you wish to order – please order – by – Wednesday 14th December, 3pm

Note – due to popularity last year & requests this year – we may close ordering before this date!

Pick-up is on; Friday 23rd December 10am to 7pm

Our Christmas Fair, Santa visit & children’s cake decorating for 2022 will not take place this year.

We’ve completed 6 very successful years for this event. Covid came and forced us to miss the last 2 years. And with being a very busy day in a confined space, we’ll skip this year and re-assess next year.

Thank you to; - to all the craftworkers who supported us year after year, the many loyal returning customers, Santa for taking time out on his very busy schedule, the Carlingford choir & brass band and all of us making it happen.

However, we are also excited to bring back the Christmas Dinner Take away this year. We will be posting the Christmas Dinner menu soon. So stay tuned! ✨

Soprano Sarah McCourt will sing between the courses of a 5-course tasting dinner prepared by the Ghan House 2AA Rosette kitchen team.

Sarah has vast experience in performing at home and abroad. She has sung in the prestigious Flanders Opera Studio in Belgium for two years and in venues such as Opera Houses in Ghent and Antwerp.

At home, Sarah has performed in the National Concert Hall, the Gaiety Theatre, and numerous other venues.

A multiple prize-winner, Sarah's achievements include the Margaret Burke-Sheridan Cup for Best Female Singer.

We are delighted to let you know that our bedrooms are all upgraded now. We have also taken step to help us become more energy efficient , reduce our carbon footprint, save money!

Our gas is from 100% renewable source - BioLPG is made from mix of wastes, residues, and sustainably sourced vegetable oils.

All our electricity is from 100% renewable sources and has been since 2015. And we have air source heat pump providing heat and by water.

Ghan House is also perfect for corporate events. We have a choice of 3 unique conference rooms all have natural daylight and free wifi.

Hands-on cookery & wine tasting here at Ghan House can be incorporated into your team building.
We can provide LCD projector, flip charts, photocopying and printing.

In addition David at Escape Rooms just 200 metres away provides a fun group Escape Rooms experience (we’ve done it – we loved it!) and they also provide bicycle hire along with Joie & Richard at On Yer Bike! down at The Marina.

For a guided walk on the Mountain or Medieval Carlingford, Clodagh at Anam Tours knows the mountain better than the wild horses & goats.

The Heritage Centre can also provide guided walks of the town & King John’s Castle – which was built in 1210, but recent discoveries over the last 10yrs by the OPW has revealed artifacts pre-dating this time!
