Is it really a week already since these gorgeous folks played for us? Heartfelt thanks to Phoenix & Wolfe for a truly beautiful evening, and to our lovely audience too.🥰
(More video to follow, internet connection permitting!😆)

Thanks to Irrus for this great info. Show our Loop Head seals that you love them, by staying out of their way!
can be often spotted along the Loop Head Peninsula, West Clare and some even turn up on the shore in front of Irrus! pupping season has begun and this is the time when you’ll see more new born and young pups.
Disruptive human activity can frighten away nursing mothers and inadvertently lead to pups being injured or orphaned, which leaves them with little chance of survival on their own.
Seal Rescue Ireland would appreciate your assistance in keeping seals from needing to be rescued by remembering to always give wildlife space. Please remain AT LEAST 100m away from seals. If a seal is looking at you, you are already too close!
Follow the guidelines of their infographic and contact their 24/7 rescue hotline on 087-1955393 if you encounter a pup that you think might need help!
Thank you!💙🦭

Thanks to Cosmic garden fests for this - and don't forget, you can start supporting local music tonight, at their first free fest of this year! Check out their page for details.
A big, big thankyou to everyone who came along to Banner Books for our Gardener's Get-together today, especially to Julie and Brigitte for sharing their expert veggie-growing knowledge. And thanks for all the seeds and plants too! I'm back in my garden now, happily sowing and planting them all :D
Next Gardener's Get-Together is on Sunday, 14th of July. Same time, same place, see you there xx
It's a lovely day for the garden today... tomorrow afternoon is to be showery, so that will be a lovely time to come indoors and talk about gardening over a cuppa! Hope to see some of you there (and your spare plants and seeds).
Something to brighten up your Sunday before the Munster final. Gardener's Get-Together at Banner Books with Silverwood Events, 2pm to 4pm.
If you can get to Urlingford for this, it would be well worth it. I attended one of the open days a couple of years ago, and learned so much. If you have land, you can find out about producing wildflower seed commercially. And most of all, you'll be treated to the sight of huge fields of native wildflowers! Breathtaking.

Tidy Towns Adjudication begins this week. We don't know when we will be visited. We need your help!
Judges will deduct points if they see signs of spraying! So please, pull weeds by hand or reach for the hoe :)
● See some weeds - pull them up.
● Litter in the street - pick it up and place it in the nearest bin.
● Moss on a lamppost - wash it down with some hot water and a soft brush.
Don't forget to join us next Sunday (June 9th) for the next Gardener's Get-Together. The summer growing season has really taken off, so we all have lots of plants and seeds to share, I'm sure! And, for those of us that found our damp, dark spring a bit of a challenge, there's a chance to get some tips on how to make up for lost time and extend the growing season. Our gracious hosts at Banner Books are giving us a 10% discount on all gardening books for the afternoon, and there will be free tea and treats as always. 😁🫖☕🌺🍅
We are very much looking forward to welcoming Annie and Ted Deppe, and all of you, to our Kilrush shop on Friday evening. Come to listen, come to read, stay to socialise.
These lovelies are coming to :The The Greyhound Bar Kilkee on June 17th - I wanna go! Who's in?
Only 4 weeks to go! Join us in Kilrush for a sensual summer evening of music with the wonderful Phoenix e Wolfe
Our lovely cosy venue, Banner Books, makes for an intimate, unplugged experience for true music lovers. It also means that tickets are very limited! Get yours now at the link below.
An intimate evening of music with Amanda Shannon and Cairo Rocha, featuring their own original songs, plus favourite Irish and jazz numbers.
Following on from our Gardener's Get-Together last Sunday, with Kilrush Tidy Towns at Banner Books, here are some of the links to the Co. Clare based nurseries and Irish wildflower seed suppliers that I mentioned.
Both Ivywood Apothecary in Tulla and Caherhurley Nursery in Bodyke produce superb quality plants, grown from scratch with love and perfectly suited to our local conditions.
If you're sowing wildflower seeds to support biodiversity, Irish-grown seeds of native varieties are a must. The master of Irish wildflower seeds is Sandro Cafolla of Design By Nature - Ire.
Sandro also supplies the native wildflower seeds sold by Connecting to Nature.ie - for our windy conditions around Kilrush and the Loop Head Peninsula, I'd recommend their Coastal Mix.
In other news... I passed my DAFM inspection today! That means I'll soon be selling seeds and plants online, from my own nursery... but that's another story 😊
You've made your garden bee and butterfly friendly... now what? Gardening for Bats with Bat Conservation Ireland (which, hopefully, also means gardening for moths). Count me in!
We are thrilled to begin our online information campaign this year for ! This year we want to highlight the importance of gardens and gardening for bats and how what you plant in and how you manage your garden space can help our bat populations thrive! This is a forerunner to a new pilot project we will be launching this year - Gardening for Bats - which we are very excited about, so watch this space!

Here's a little sample of last week's Cosy Concert, with Paul Jackson and David Hippel at Banner Books, Kilrush.
