Roscommon County Council, together with the Arts Council of Ireland, is pleased to announce funding for artists in 2025 under the annual Artist Bursary Programme. Professional artists either currently living in the county or who were born here, are eligible to apply.

🎭The Arts Office of Roscommon County Council is pleased to announce a Drama League of Ireland Scholarship. This scholarship is for the Drama League of Ireland Residential Summer School which takes place at the University of Limerick in July 19th – 26th, 2025 (dates subject to confirmation by DLI). 🌟 Join our team: The Heritage Council /National Library of Ireland Conservation Internship 2025 🌟

The internship is part of the Heritage Council's commitment to the promotion of best practice for conservation in Ireland. The intern will work on a variety of collections from the manuscript, printed and visual collections of the National Library of Ireland, as well as assisting in the preparation and installation of exhibitions and loans. The intern will be encouraged to publish and present their work to different and diverse audiences.

You are invited to a day of reflection this Sunday Nov 10th through enjoyable arts research activities, exhibit of photos from the programme, chats and refreshments. ✏️

Creative Feedback Session -
Story of A Town: Ballaghaderreen

Artists Conor Burke and Dani Gill will lead fun, creative activities for the community to reflect on the past year with the Creative Places programme in Ballaghaderreen.

1) Treasure Trail
Identify questions and themes from the Creative Places Ballaghaderreen experience around the hall in the exhibition of photographs.

2) Word cloud with Dani & Mapping with Conor
For Conor's session, you are invited to bring along an item / photograph / drawing that connects you to place, home or Ballaghaderreen.

3) Wishes for Ballagh
An installation that gives participants the opportunity to offer wishes, visions and hopes for the future of Ballaghaderreen and its community.

1.30pm – 2.30pm
Informal Celebration Afternoon
View the exhibition, enjoy some refreshments and chat with the Artist Researchers Anna, Julie and Nollaig.

Facilitator Bio:
Conor is a visual artist and curator based in Galway, working from Mart Studios. His work engages with geometric forms and architectural imagery to investigate the transformative processes that shape our built environment. His art often mirrors his dedication to community activism, with themes of equality and social inclusion deeply informing his conceptual approach.

Dani is a Writer, Artist, and Producer, based in the west of Ireland. She has two poetry collections After Love, (2017) and Lessons in Kindness, (2023), with Salmon Poetry. After Love was made into a short film that featured at festivals internationally. It was also made into a dance theatre show premiering at Galway International Arts Festival 2021. Her landscape art initiative The Lighthous Project, 2020-2023, featured audio trails,installations, live events and commissions, in 8 counties around Ireland. She is interested in place based work and the themes of community, identity, sexuality, and women.

If you have taken part in any of the chats, events and programming over the past year with Creative Places Ballaghaderreen, you are invited to join and reflect together with us at our final community consultation event!

📍 Location: St. Nathy's Hall, Ballaghaderreen.

🕑 Time: 11.30am - 2.30pm.

🗓 Date: Sunday, November 10th.

Take part in a Feedback morning session facilitated by artists Dani Gill & Conor Burke through fun, arts-based research activities to reflect on the Creative Places programme. ✏️

Then enjoy a celebration afternoon with us. Have a look at an exhibit of some of the projects that happened over the year, meet the Artist Researchers Anna, Nollaig and Julie, and tea, coffee and lunch refreshments will be available.
