Mara Media, owners of the commercial fishing publication "The Skipper" setup the Irish Skipper Expo, originally held in Galway in 2005 , the success of the event and its rapid expansion over the years resulted in the show moving to the UL Sport Arena in Limerick for 2020. Following the success of the Irish event, Mara Media decided that the Scottish fishing sector would also benefit from an all-en

compassing annual fisheries exhibition, which led to their decision to create the Scottish Skipper Expo in 2011. Held annually in Aberdeen the show will also move to a new venue in 2020 with the opening of the new Conference and Exhibition centre, P&J Live. Aside from attracting fishermen from Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales, the shows also attract fishermen and industry related companies from Norway, Denmark, Northern France, Iceland and Holland.

Bord Iascaigh Mhara, Ireland's Seafood Development Agency, is pleased to announce its return as the headline sponsor to the Irish Skipper Expo 2025. Supported by the European Maritime Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF), the trade show event is set to take place at the University of Limerick Sport Arena on March 21 and 22.

Visitors to the BIM stand can expect to find a wealth of information about key supports and services available to the industry, including EMFAF grant aid opportunities and practical guidance from BIM staff working at the event on how to access them.

NMCI Seafarers Conference Confirmed to be Held the Eve before Irish Skipper Expo

The 4th annual NMCI Seafarers’ Conference 2025, will take place at the Castletroy Park Hotel in Limerick on Thursday, the 20th of March 2025, on the eve of The Skipper Expo.
