The History Festival of Ireland The History Festival of Ireland began in 2012, an initiative of historian Turtle Bunbury and producer Hugo Jellett.

In 2015 it became part of The Borris House Festival of Writing & Ideas, programming a strand of history talks. The festival has always taken place in County Carlow, in Lisnavagh, Huntingdon, Duckett's Grove and Borris. Plans are afoot to recreate a standalone History Festival in 2020/2021 on an intimate scale live, with a digital aspect.

NAAS TRACK TALK, via The Irish Field

WANT to hear about the history of Naas Racecourse from the man who knows the subject better than anyone else?

Naas Local History Group is hosting a talk next Tuesday (March 5th) at 8pm in the Town House Hotel.

Entitled ‘100 years of thrills and spills - the centenary of Naas Racecourse’, the illustrated talk will be given by Turtle Bunbury, author of the book launched in January which records the history of the racecourse.
