Last week was the first week I took off from orders and catering since our start more than 2 months ago. And, for a very special reason.

I celebrated my 6 month anniversary with my beautiful wife Yaeli on Thursday!!

Instead of making food and hustling with deliveries on Friday, I took Thursday off to go to Hertzeliya to spend time with my wife, and to enjoy.

I think a little itsy part of me also needed a break to reevaluate my company and the things I want to gain from it.

But, we are back! And I am excited for another poppin’ week! Let’s make this week a great one!

Buffalo wings are the bomb! (recipe below👇)

I had done hours of research before the super bowl to either find or create the perfect recipe for restaurant level buffalo wings. I still do not feel like I have gotten the perfect outcome. I feel like I am soooooo close to making UNREAL buffalo wings.

for these super bowl buffalo wings, I used equal parts franks hot sauce and honey. They tasted fantastic!

I know that my PERFECT wings will have a lot to do with vegan butter. So first, I need to find an amazing recipe for that!

Get on it!

We are back with a new !

Although this tip is relevant for almost all foods, I find this to be more relatable when it comes to eggs.

When cooking or baking foods, it is important to take the food off the heat source a couple of minutes before it would be considered "ready" in your eyes (Obviously "ready" can be relative when cooking anything. Some people may like their eggs over easy while others well cooked.) The reason why you do this is because your food takes time to lower temperatures and therefore, is still cooking when you take it off the flame.

When it comes to eggs, I always say it's best to take it off the flame right before EXACTLY the way you like it. This way when it cools down it will be perfect!

Cooking food for other peoples super bowl party was nice, but eating the leftovers was WAYYYY better!

I combined a couple of leftovers to make something amazing!

I laid leftover fried chicken and creamy cole slaw on a wrap and then drizzled some sriracha on to recreate a classic southern spicy fried chicken sandwich.

It was quick and more importantly, OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!

Another week, another one of our

RICE!

So many people are afraid of making rice or feel like they do not know how to do it right. But, once this simple grain is mastered there is no turning back.

In order to make perfect FLUFFY rice every time, all you have to do is trust the process and wait a little. Refrain from halting the steaming process by lifting up the lid of the pot you are cooking with and you will be set!

This video by Gordon Ramsey was very helpful for me when I was beginning in my cooking journey and it covers all the basics of making delicious rice. Take your time to watch this video and you'll be making delicious foolproof rice really soon!

Thank G-d I came across this cooking tip and here is why!

Ok, this tip might be one of my favorite tips so far! When I came across this delicious😋 tip, I had been cooking with negative results on foods I loved cooking and I could not explain why.

Tip # 3: "Stop crowding your pans!" means exactly that!!!

No matter what you are cooking, your food needs space. Because food releases moisture when it is cooking, foods that are left in a crowded pan will steam instead of searing (unless you are trying to steam your food, give your veggies some space!). Cook your food in batches or use two pans so the process is faster and so you get the texture you want.

Keep this in mind and have your veggies, meats, ect. rise to new levels of YUM with great texture! 😎

Want to know how I made this?

This morning I made my own version of avocado toast (I used crackers instead of bread because.... calories😎) all from the leftovers of catering over the weekend. It’s worth it to cater just for that!

I smeared some delicious guacamole on a cracker and topped it with a tomato and some pesto. I garnished it with parsley for some style and there it was😋

Appreciate the continuous love ❤️

Wishing y’all a Shabbat Shalom!

Have you ever spent a really long time cooking meat and then have it come out dry?

This can be one of the most frustrating things that can happen for someone when cooking. You have invested all this time and energy in reading a recipe, following it and waiting. All that, to then have your food not even come out great! Its the worst!

Well, one of the reasons this can happen is because you are cutting meat and chicken earlier than you should and not letting it rest for some time.

It is important to let meat and chicken sit for a couple of minutes (5-7 minutes for a small cut and 10-20 for a big cut) so it can reabsorb and redistribute all its juices. If you were to cut into it too early, all the juices that keep the meat/ chicken tender and delicious will escape.
If you were to cut a steak right off the grill, you will notice all of the juices spilling out, leaving you with a dry and tough final product.

So, make sure to keep this in mind the next time (and every time) you make any sort of meat and it will taste so much better!

I hope this tip was helpful😊

[relaxed sigh] ahhh the joy of making your own pickles....

Although they may take time, fermenting full sour pickles, or any other vegetable for that matter, is really quite simple (we all know Israeli pickles just don't cut it)!

All you need to do is make a salt brine, which is literally salt and water (salt brine calculator linked below) and then add your desired spices to season the pickles.
(These are the ingredients that I like to use but feel free to go crazy with it: 16 cucumbers washed with their tips cut off, 3 cloves of garlic, 2 bushels of fresh dill, 1/2 T red pepper flakes, 1T coriander seed, 1T mustard seed, 1/2T of whole pepper corn)
All of that followed by some of the most antagonizing waiting of your life, 7 WHOLE days (NOTE: The longer you let the fermentation do its thing, the more tasty your pickled product will be. It is 7 days MINIMUM but you can let it ferment for longer as well)!

And, you’ve done it!

For a more details on the simple process of pickling, take a look at this video:

It is ALWAYS exciting to start something new!

I Recently decided to create a cooking tip on this page twice a week. Whether you are an established mom who cooks all the time or someone just learning the way of the knife, these tips can serve as both important reminders and as new lessons for anyone. I know I am always still learning

The reason why this tip is number one is because it is something I struggle to do a lot. But, it can be the difference between a perfectly cooked meal or less so.

It’s hard to plan ahead but it will change the way you make food and give you time for the important things (no more scrambling to find the salt) like making sure the food isn’t burnt.

Enjoy!

P.S. Stay tuned for some BIG things coming this week.

Spice it up a bit🌶🧄🧅🧂

Sautéed vegetables are always a win in my home. They are healthy, tasty, and simple.

So many people leave vegetables on the fire for too long resulting in them losing their taste.

What I like to do is throw the vegetables in a pan for about 10 minutes (always put your aromatics in first for a couple of minutes ie. onion, garlic chili pepper) to keep their earthy and natural taste, then, I add a tiny bit of soy sauce at the end for some additional flavor.

Try it yourself and enjoy😊

“Vague goals produce vague results”

In a way, being in a lockdown just as I am starting to really put my catering company out there is a blessing. I now have the opportunity to go back to the drawing board and brainstorm exactly what I want to get out of this project and where I want it to go.

I sat down to plan out goals for my company, both for this coming week and for the future. I am researching things like:
1. What content I want to post.
2. What demographic I want to engage with.
3. What I want my brand to look like.
4. How to implement the strategies and content of already great social media pages in my own work.

By planning content and structuring my company the way I want to early on, I am able to see the fruits of my labor and the growth of my company so much better later.
