I’ve got a nice metaphor for you. ☺️💕Our relationship is shaped like a triangle. 🔺There’s me, my partner, and the emotional space between us. And this mutual space needs tending and care of its own.
And when we nourish this space with attention, we both can grow as individuals from this beautiful base.

MAGICAL SWIRLS ✨ Eugene and Julia’s Ketubah harmoniously combines a traditional foundation with a free-spirited atmosphere representing their vibe. The structure of the artwork is based on a traditional ancient Jewish Ketubah layout, and the base of the artwork features a chamsa in the center as a symbol of protection and good luck. In each side of the chamsa, I’ve illustrated a majestic lion. The lion stands for Eugene’s Hebrew name, Ariel, and they are also a symbol of a strong foundation and a powerful base which allows their love to flourish. The Tree of Life grows and flourishes above the main text circle. It’s a beautiful traditional Jewish symbol of spirituality, and it’s also magical and different since it features beautiful myrtle flowers which stand for Julia’s Hebrew name, Hadassah. The tree is set within a beautiful bubble which makes it stand out. The trunk of the tree is intertwined as a hug, symbolizing their shared values of affection, trust, and communication. The upper part of the artwork features detailed patterns and shapes which reference to the style of Klimt and reflect a free-spirited atmosphere. This unique and beautiful Ketubah stands for the harmonious balance between tradition and free spirit.

The one consistent thing we do each anniversary💖⚓️- reading our ketubah! This serves as a beautiful reminder of our special day, helps us reflect on the intentions we set at the beginning of our marriage, and provides an anchor to reevaluate our priorities when we feel overwhelmed.

Ketubah symbols- SUN & MOON 🌙 🌞The sun and moon symbolize the energies of masculinity and femininity, with the sun representing power and action, and the moon representing softness and renewal. These two energies exist within each of us.💕

Here are a few ways you can incorporate a personal text into an Orthodox ketubah. 💖We can design the border with a quote from a favorite song, weave a beautiful sentence into the artwork, or add a meaningful quote above or below the main ketubah text..

The ancient ketubah was primarily meant to protect the woman within the relationship. And although the orthodox text is still the same these days, our ketubah is an opportunity to re-evaluate what needs to be protected. And this is not to say that you shouldn’t use the orthodox text. I’m just saying that the ketubah is an opportunity to think about what needs to be protected these days. Maybe we need to re-evaluate what needs to be protected within a marriage. And maybe the thing that needs to be protected most is the relationship itself.

MAGICAL LOVE 💖 Zoe & Paul wanted a ketubah that would weave together their love story and values. The main theme of the artwork is “Beshert” the way that their individual paths intertwine in a heavenly way through their shared values. The artwork is built from the ground upwards, metaphorically representing growth from the earth, the base, upwards towards spirituality. I’ve illustrated a lake symbolizing the calm water scenery of Seattle. A double kayak and pedals symbolize their first day. A songbird is placed in the water, symbolizing building a home of joy and playfulness. A grown magical tree with roots growing towards the ground, setting a foundation for growth for the next generation. Two birds with eggs in a nest and a little birdhouse, building a home with a cozy feeling. Two spirit animals, both standing on a cobblestone path above the little island rocks. Two hugging fingers with flower heads. Each flower represents their background. Their hug stands for trust and support. The Shabbat candles and the Hamsa symbolize the spiritual protection and health. On the top center, a little woven heart shape, and beneath it, two hummingbirds holding intertwined rings, representing devotion and love. This ketubah features elements and motifs that symbolize their individual backgrounds that come together, creating a beautiful, harmonious, and magical scenery together. It reflects their unique love story that will be cherished for a lifetime.

DREAMY JOURNEY☁️🌿💕 Andrew & Christina wanted a ketubah that will be magical, whimsical, and adventurous. They wanted to create a cozy and playful atmosphere. This ketubah features both of them as a couple, standing on a hill and looking at a sunrise scenery. They’re holding hands as a symbol of love, support, and peacefulness. Christina’s figure is holding a daisy flower as a symbol to their beloved dog, Daisy. In the center of the landscape, I’ve illustrated a lake with a river to represent their hometowns, Chicago and Pittsburgh. The top part of the artwork is built out of beautiful English garden flowers that create the shape of an arch, symbolizing the arch in St. Louis, Missouri, where they’ve met. The color scheme is based on lime green, periwinkle purple, and sunflower orange to match the dreamy and hopeful atmosphere. This ketubah portrays their inner love journey, a journey of dream, hope, playfulness, and magic
