Hey everyone! Our daughter's bat mitzvah is on the horizon. I'm curious about your experiences with event photography. I'm weighing the options between hiring a magnet photographer who walks around snapping candid shots vs. setting up a photo booth station. Here's what I've found so far:

📸 **Magnet Photographer (Roaming):**
**Pros:**
- Captures candid, in-the-moment photos.
- Can move through the event, getting a variety of shots with different groups.
- Feels more personal and interactive.
**Cons:**
- Might miss people who don’t like being photographed.
- Requires coordination to ensure they catch key moments.
- Less control over the background and setting.

🎪 **Photo Booth Station:**
**Pros:**
- Guests can choose when to step in and have fun with props.
- Controlled environment with lighting and backdrops.
- Can be a fun, interactive corner for guests.
**Cons:**
- Limited to those who decide to visit the booth.
- May not capture the whole vibe of the event.
- Can lead to lines or crowding in one area.

A good man, a friend and fellow Simcha DJ was shockingly robbed. Roy Baron is amazing simcha DJ. Erev Tisha B'av (yesterday) he was shockingly robbed of most of my DJ equipment - gear that's used to make a LOT of people happy and healthy.

I grew up singing Hatikvah every Monday morning at the back to school assembly at Brandeis Hillel Day School. The tune always felt mournful and somber. I never paid attention to the words. I knew what the title meant, but none of the other words. My view of Jewish music was transformed when I heard C.J. Glass and Jo Zander jam on Jewish tunes. For years we had a sort of musical havdalah after the first day of Passover. These guys would jazz up anything. What this did was free me to see that Jewish tunes can be jazzy. There is no essential reason why an A minor chord can't be made into an A minor 7th chord. I'm so grateful that Rivkah Adinah Kanush agreed to sing this with me. Enjoy. 🎶✨ חג שמח

Dear people of Israel, and friends of ours, today we are observing the Fast of Esther. But who was Queen Esther?

Queen Esther was a good Jewish woman who was basically kidnapped to the palace of a gentile king and was forced to live a married life with him against her will and lived in constant fear of revealing her Jewish identity that it might danger her life.

This was Esther's bitter fate...*and only towards the end of the Megillah, do we discover that her tragedy had a hidden wonderful twist and queen Esther merited to save the Jewish nation from genocide.

Jews and gentiles, it is not Purim yet... It is a special day for remorse and repentance.

Let us not our 134 Jewish brothers and sisters held captive in Gaza who share a similar, if not much worse fate with Queen Esther at her time.

Within the darkest moments of the Megilla , when heavenly salvation seemed completely unexpected, when the Jewish nation expected a Holocaust to take place, Jews gathered together, fasted and prayed and turned their hearts back to HaShem. Let's dedicate this Fast of Esther in prayer for the salvation of the Jewish nation and the world, and for a safe and swift return home of all our hostages.

May we hear good news and have real good reasons for merriment soon in our days. With prayer for a full and final redemption.
