Wedding clothes shopping tips: 1. Do research beforehand. There are hundreds of outfits at a bridal boutique. It’s easy to get overwhelmed and for decision fatigue to set in. Before your appointment, look at the boutiques online storefront, and pick out a few styles you like. Send them to your assigned sales associate and this will help them show you clothes that suit your style and preference. 2. Don’t wear makeup. There’s a high chance your foundation or lipstick will get on the delicate clothes you try. Often, the pieces you try on at the store are only sample pieces. You don’t get to take it home. This same piece will be tried on by other brides. To continue giving future brides the same exciting experience you had, avoid wearing makeup that can soil the material. 3. Wear appropriate lingerie. I recommend a nude strapless bra. And if you’re planning to try skintight dresses, carry shapewear. This way, you’ll have a clearer vision of what you will look like on the day of the event, and will help the tailor take more accurate measurements. 4. Be mindful of your shopping team. Clothes shopping is one of the most exciting parts of the wedding, and it’s easy to get carried away and invite all your aunties, cousins and friends. Keep in mind-most boutiques are small and if there are multiple bridal appointments, you won’t even be allowed to bring in all your guests. Second, it’s easy to get confused and frustrated when there are so many voices and opinions in the room. It’s your day and your opinion matters the most. Invite only a few of the people you trust the most. 5. Take photos. Some boutiques don’t let you do this, but if you can, take photos of you in the outfits you have selected.
