VASTRA, a comprehensive trade fair and conference on Textiles and Apparel, aims at showcasing the best and latest in textiles from fibre to fashion – be it technology or the products. It is designed to highlight business opportunities and provide opportunities for launching new products, exploring avenues for new business relations, JV's, strategic alliances and partnerships worldwide as also new locations for setting up businesses in India. It also provides a platform for disseminating technology, interaction with experts and R&D Labs for solution in technology and latest trends. VASTRA-2012 held from 22nd to 25th November, 2012 at Jaipur, India created a milestone in the exhibition history of Indian Textiles. 178 exhibitors covering entire textile domain, 361 International buyers from across the globe and 36 Indian buying houses showed their presence in VASTRA – 2012. Through an especially designed format introduced for the first time in any textile exhibition, 4578 structured B2B meets were held which generated a whopping US $ 61.90 million worth of business. mtr. area, VASTRA – 2012 also had live demonstration of traditional textile crafts, business fashion shows, concurrent conferences and also State pavilions from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Kerala and Haryana. In the very first edition, VASTRA has created space in the international calendar of exhibitions on textiles and apparel.
