Meet Soma Basu - Co-founder, Knexup .

Passionate about performing arts and communication, Soma has indulged in writing, painting and Indian classical dance alongside a career of over two decades in business operations, stakeholder communication and project management. With a degree in Economics from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, she has always enjoyed learning and went on to study business management, project management and also take up other professional trainings in areas of editing and coaching.
While working in the editing and publishing sector, she has translated the works of renowned Bengali authors like Sankar, Nabaneeta Dev Sen, Shirshendu Mukherjee from Bengali into English. Her personal favourites remain the translations of The Great Unknown (Kato Ajanarey by Sankar) and The Holy Trail (Karuna Tomar Kon Poth Diye by Nabaneeta Dev Sen).
Soma later shifted gears to work in the education sector, managing business operations in educational trusts in the UK. Being an insider in the UK education system has opened her heart and mind to several aspects of how the future generation can be nurtured into their best avatars. As an experienced Power of Coaching practitioner, promoting positive behavioural changes in individuals, teams and organisations is something she wakes up to every morning.
Through the years, Soma has gathered experience and transferable skills from various professional and personal instances with which she has now created a collage to drive her passion venture, Knexup.

Meet Benazir Asgar
When a girl becomes a woman and later transforms into a mother, her personal dreams and goals seem to fade off. Her life becomes one that’s dedicated to her children and family, with personal happiness limited to making others around her happy. But inside the woman, there will be that little girl who wants to do something that she loves the most but there are just a few who actually realize that dream. Benazir Asgar is one such inspiring woman who made her dreams come true after being married for many years and after successfully bringing up her kids. Her journey from being an ordinary homemaker to now being a successful renowned home baker is truly an inspiration for many people.
Her stint with cakes began when one of her daughters asked her to bake a cake. Benazir looked up YouTube for an easy recipe, bought all ingredients from the market and baked a fabulous cake for her four children. Because of her love for cooking, she a year and half earlier started her venture ‘Zafar’s kitchen & bakery " . Here she prepares and supplies from Mughlai to Bengali dishes on order . From kakrar jhal to Biryani .People adore her lipsmacking food . Not only this she also specializes in baking cakes . From birthday parties to anniversary to getogethers to any occasion. She has baked more than 1000 designs & er cake is all set to make you smile .

Meet Upama-
Upama,an Assistant Professor of English from Kolkata,takes keen interest in social work from a tender age.She is now undertaking the responsibility of education( providing educational sponsorship) of two underprivileged girl child of Inner Wheel School,Kolkata.Being associated as a Governing Body member & a volunteer activist at Sangbedan-NGO for Special Children,Kolkata,she's working towards inclusivity,being the founder of 'On the Roof'-a performative open (roof) space focusing on Inclusivity at her own residence.Upama has authored 3 books.

Lately,she edited & compiled an anthology,'Belonging:An Anthology of Accepting, Acknowledging & Walking towards Inclusivity',lately published by the Shades Publishers, Kolkata. She's now is ideating an app,'REMOTE' (to be launched shortly) designed to facilitate communication for special children having speech impairment.

A platform created to raise awareness on various social topics like Abused Women , Single mothers , S*x Workers , abusive relationships, LGBTQ community etc and celebrate , felicitate & honour them . One such subject is the what Rajanigandha an upcoming short film is based upon - a flim about a s*x worker's life . The film is produced by Rimmi Mukherjee and directed by Abhishek Basu. Shagufta event company SHE collaborated with this film to bring about a much talked about topic and to raise awareness on the same .

Obhaya Samman is a platform which celebrates the Courageous & the brave women who had walked a long way of struggle , hardship and vigour . They are the one who have walked that extra mile to gain fame and are proud to take the leap .
