We delivered a very special order yesterday, from a daughter who resides in Australia for her parents here in Mumbai. I felt so blessed to have been chosen to do this beautiful gesture of love! ❤️ She had ordered Methi Gondh laddoo.
Lately we have been receiving a lot of orders from the elderly/ people with joint pain for this variety of laddoo in our menu.

Aunty (the mother) even spoke to me and said "Khush Raho!" It's still echoing in my ears😊

I was more than delighted to get the above message (Pic 2) from the daughter this morning. The feeling can't be explained in words. Someone sitting miles away, who wanted to make her parents feel special and cared for, chose me to be that medium. It's a privilege, an honor to serve such beautiful customers!

As I type this post, my eyes are filled with tears, a little smile of contentment, with lips saying a small prayer 'To keep all the parents in the world happy and healthy' 🙏

Immense gratitude is what I feel right now! 🙏

Contestant number 118!

Here's a glimpse of what I cooked for MasterChef India auditions 2023.

This is traditional Ambarsari Matthi Cholle te Gud da kadaa. Very proud to have presented the dishes that are so close to my heart and showcase one of a million dishes that belong to my roots -

The Matthi is eaten with Cholle and pyaaz dipped in chatpati chutney. It's a lesser known street food of Amritsar.

I have used a Pittal ki thali and bowl (Brass) - as traditionally, that's the metal that was used commonly in Punjabi households. Chutney is in ceramic as brass reacts to sour ingredients. Spoons are made of kansa.

The combination of Matthi with Gud da kadaa has a very special significance. It is given to the bride by her mother in her Jholi during Haldi ceremony. This combination is given as a blessing to the bride to prosper in the new phase of her life.

I want to express immense gratitude for this amazing experience where I met so many like minded souls and I was blown away with the kind of passion each contestant had towards food. This makes it all worth doing what I do. 🥹

Not to forget, I met the most humble and kind person She is such a Powerhouse of energy. She is someone I look up to for inspiration.

Not to forget, I met my college friend after 11 loooong years and we chit chatted (kind of gossiped) like there's no tomorrow 🫣🤣

I am going to cherish this day forever!!!! 💕
To more such experiences 🍻

While I was all out completing my orders, my body wanted to rest and take it easy. It gave me signs which I ignored. I was too caught up with the excitement of fulfilling Rakhi orders.

Going all out buying the best hamper boxes, ingredients, packaging material etc. I was super happy that I would get to be a part of Rakhi celebrations of so many families. The preps had begun as some orders had to be shipped out of Mumbai. All of a sudden, things got worse and I had to be admitted to the hospital. I was most concerned about conveying this to my customers last minute. With a broken heart, on the way to the hospital called each one of them apologizing for the inconvenience. I had to cancel all my Rakhi orders.

Everyone that I called was super kind to understand my situation and asked me not to worry. But since then, I have been in the hospital battling my guilt.

Although I am well aware to understand that health comes first, my mind is unable to settle with this fact. In addition, staying away from my little one has been too difficult.

The immense family support is something I cannot be grateful for enough. I can feel the power of prayers and healing vibes from my family, friends, customers and well wishers. I am truly blessed! 🙏

Lastly, our body is something that we take for granted the most. I learnt it the hard way. Moving forward, I would do my best to give sometime to myself.

Hoping to recover soon and get back to doing what I do the best - cook delicious food! ❤️

So this couple is going on a holiday to Kashmir with their 2 year old. And mumma bear called me if I could make some zero spice Methi Theplas and tiny Besan ke laddoo for baby bear.

How can I not? As a mum, I understand, when it comes to going out with little ones, we have like a zillion things to take care of before we leave. One of the concerns that tops our list is food. It's a big relief to have some munchies along while travelling and that too if it's homemade, hindi mein kehte hain 'sone pe suhaga'.

The Methi theplas are zero spice ones and Besan ke laddoo rolled into tiny balls, made in desi ghee, with very less sugar and have dryfruits. She wanted dry fruit chunks unlike what most mums ask for (powdered dryfruits).

Methi Theplas were neatly vaccuum packed to stay fresh for a long time. And some were given in normal packets to have in the flight.

Such a satisfying feeling to have become an important part of the family's travel. Hope they have a lovely holiday and the baby bear enjoys these Methi Theplas and Besan ke laddoo 🤞
